The Honda fuel pump class action settlement is a proposed nationwide deal in Oliver v. American Honda Motor Co. Inc. (Case No. 5:20-cv-00666, N.D. Ala.) that would extend fuel pump warranty coverage on roughly 6.2 million 2017–2020 Honda and Acura vehicles to 15 years or 150,000 miles and reimburse owners who already paid out of pocket for fuel pump repairs.1Top Class Actions. How and When to File a Claim

The claims process is not yet open, because the settlement still needs court approval. Once it is approved, registered owners are expected to receive an official class notice by mail with a unique identification number and instructions for filing.6Class Action U. The Underlying Defect

The lawsuit centers on low-pressure fuel pumps supplied by Denso whose plastic impellers can absorb fuel, swell, and deform, eventually jamming the pump and cutting fuel to the engine. Symptoms include a check-engine light, rough running, hard starts, intermittent power loss, and stalling while driving.9NHTSA.
