How to Cancel a Chatbooks Subscription: App, Web, and Apple/Google

To cancel a Chatbooks subscription, first check who is actually charging you: if the line item on your statement reads “Chatbooks,” cancel inside the Chatbooks app or on the website; if it reads “Apple.com/bill” or “Google Play,” you have to cancel through that store’s subscription settings instead. Canceling in the Chatbooks app alone will not stop app store charges.

Check Who Is Billing You

Pull up your bank or credit card statement before you tap anything. A charge listed as “Chatbooks” means direct billing, and you can cancel in the app or on the website. A charge listed as “Apple.com/bill” or “Google Play” means the subscription runs through that storefront, and only that storefront can end it.

While you’re there, identify which product you actually have. Chatbooks sells Series books that print automatically once you hit a photo threshold, Monthbooks that ship on a set schedule, and Monthly Minis. Each has its own cancel flow, and canceling one won’t touch another running on the same account.

Series subscriptions use their own path:1Chatbooks Help Center. Can I Pause or Cancel My Series Subscription

Cancel on the Chatbooks Website

If you’d rather use a browser, log in at Chatbooks.com and click your profile name to open the dropdown. Go to subscription management, find the subscription you want to end, click the cancel option, and confirm. The dashboard should update to show “Canceled” or “Inactive.” Refresh if it doesn’t update immediately, and save the confirmation page.

Cancel Through Apple or Google

If your charge comes from Apple or Google, canceling inside the Chatbooks app will do nothing. The billing relationship is with the store.

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, find Chatbooks, and tap Cancel Subscription.3Apple. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple If there’s no cancel button, or you see a red expiration message, Apple already treats the subscription as canceled.

On Android, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, and choose Payments & Subscriptions. Find Chatbooks and tap cancel before the next renewal date. Both stores let you keep access through the end of the paid period rather than cutting you off immediately.

Use Your Credits Before You Cancel

This is the step that costs people money. After cancellation, you have 30 days to use any remaining book credits before they expire. If you signed up through an introductory or promotional offer, the rule is stricter: remaining credits expire immediately at cancellation, with no 30-day window.4Chatbooks Help Center. Confirm It Worked

Log back in a day or two later and confirm the subscription shows as inactive. If you canceled through Apple or Google, check the subscriptions list on that platform too.

Watch the next billing cycle. If a charge appears after you canceled through Chatbooks directly, email support@chatbooks.com with your cancellation confirmation before disputing with your bank. If a charge appears after you canceled through an app store, your screenshot or confirmation email is what backs up a chargeback claim.
