How to Cancel a Lingo Subscription: Biosensor, VoIP, and Billing

How you cancel a Lingo subscription depends on which Lingo you have. Lingo by Abbott, the glucose biosensor sold at hellolingo.com, cancels through your online account in a few clicks. Lingo by Impact Telecom, the VoIP phone service at lingo.com, requires a phone call and has notice rules that can trip you up. The two share a name and nothing else, so make sure you’re following the right path before you start.

Canceling the Lingo Biosensor Subscription

Go to www.hellolingo.com, scroll to the bottom of the homepage, and select “Account login.” Once logged in, open “My Subscription” and choose “Cancel subscription.”1Lingo Support. How Do I Cancel My Lingo Subscription

Timing matters. You have to finish this at least 48 hours before your next renewal date. Miss that window and the next order ships and bills before the cancellation takes effect.2Lingo Support. Can I Change or Cancel My Lingo Plan

If you’re not sure you want to quit entirely, the same page lets you pause the subscription instead. Pausing keeps your account open but stops new biosensors from shipping, so you can resume later without signing up again.

Lingo’s support team is available seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern, at 1-888-764-7684 or lingosupport-us@hellolingo.com.3Lingo Support. How Can I Contact Customer Support

Refunds on the 12-Week Plan

Lingo offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first purchase only. To start a return, log into the Lingo app with the email on the account, tap “You” at the bottom right, then “Profile,” “Current Plan,” and “See plan details.” From “Orders,” choose “Return order” to generate a prepaid return label, and ship any unopened biosensors back using that label. Lingo covers the return shipping.4Lingo Support. What Is the Refund Policy

If a second delivery already arrived during that 30-day window, contact customer support directly rather than going through the app.

Canceling Lingo VoIP Phone Service

You have to call Impact Telecom to cancel. Even if you’ve already moved your service to a new provider, Lingo will keep billing you until you formally close the account by phone.5Lingo. Lingo Terms and Conditions – Residential

Before you call, confirm with your new carrier that your phone number has fully ported over. If you cancel the Lingo account before the port completes, the number is gone for good; Impact Telecom cannot transfer a number out of a closed account.5Lingo. Lingo Terms and Conditions – Residential

Give at least 30 days’ notice before the current service term ends. Miss that notice window and the contract renews automatically for another term of the same length.5Lingo. Lingo Terms and Conditions – Residential

Returning the Equipment

Once the account is canceled, you have 21 calendar days to return any leased equipment with all its components. Impact Telecom provides a return label, but the return shipping and handling fee is on you. Equipment that comes back late or damaged is billed at full replacement cost.5Lingo. Ship with tracking and keep the receipt. That record is your only defense if Lingo later claims the equipment never arrived.

Business Accounts: Early Termination Costs

If you’re on a Lingo Networks business contract, canceling before the term ends is expensive. The early termination charge is 100 percent of the monthly service fee for the canceled services, multiplied by the months remaining. At $200 a month with eight months left, that’s $1,600.6Lingo Networks. Lingo Networks General Terms and Conditions

On top of that, Lingo Networks can claw back any recurring or non-recurring fees that were waived at signup, plus the difference between retail price and what you paid for any discounted equipment. You may also be asked to complete a termination/disconnect form itemizing remaining charges, including any unreturned hardware.6Lingo Networks. Lingo Networks General Terms and Conditions

Before you pull the trigger, add up what’s left on the contract against those claw-backs. Running out the term is sometimes cheaper than paying to leave.

If Charges Keep Hitting Your Account

If payments continue after you’ve canceled, federal law gives you a way to stop them at the bank. Under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, you can halt any preauthorized recurring transfer by notifying your bank or credit union, orally or in writing, at least three business days before the next scheduled payment. The bank may require written confirmation within 14 days of an oral request.7Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1693e – Preauthorized Transfers

This right applies regardless of what Lingo’s own terms say. If the cancellation hasn’t finished processing on Lingo’s end, your bank still has to honor a timely stop-payment order. Have your cancellation confirmation ready when you call; it speeds up any dispute over whether the charge was authorized.
