How to Cancel a Midjourney Subscription and Get a Refund

To cancel your Midjourney subscription, sign in at midjourney.com/account and click the “Cancel Plan” button. The process takes about two minutes, and you keep your plan’s features until the end of the current billing period. Below is how to cancel a Midjourney subscription cleanly, plus the narrow situations where a refund is possible and the one setup where this method won’t work.

Cancel From the Midjourney Account Page

Cancellation happens on Midjourney’s website, not inside Discord. Go to midjourney.com/account, which Midjourney calls the Manage Subscription page, and log in with the Discord or Google account you originally used. Midjourney doesn’t maintain its own standalone usernames and passwords, so you need whichever login created the account.1Midjourney. Logging In and Connecting Accounts

Once you’re on the account page, click “Cancel Plan.”2Midjourney. Canceling Your Subscription If you had already scheduled an upgrade or downgrade, cancel that pending change first by clicking “Cancel Change”; the cancellation option appears after that. A confirmation prompt will ask you to verify. Click through it.

The page then updates to show that automatic renewal is turned off, and Midjourney sends a confirmation email. Save that email. If an unexpected charge shows up later, it’s your proof.

If You Subscribed Through Apple or Google Play

This is the step people miss. If you signed up through the Midjourney iOS app and paid through Apple, or through the Android app and paid through Google Play, the “Cancel Plan” button on the Midjourney website will not stop your charges. Apple and Google run those subscriptions through their own billing systems, so you have to cancel inside them.

On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Midjourney, and tap “Cancel Subscription.” On Android, open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments and Subscriptions, then Subscriptions, select Midjourney, and tap “Cancel subscription.” If you aren’t sure which billing system you’re on, check who sends your payment receipts: Apple, Google, or Midjourney directly.

What Happens After You Cancel

Nothing shuts off right away. Your subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period, and you keep every feature of your plan until it ends, including any remaining fast GPU time.3Midjourney. Turning Off Automatic Renewals After that date, you simply aren’t billed again.

Your generated images and account history stay in place.2Midjourney. Canceling Your Subscription Images you made private while on a Pro or Mega plan remain private. You can resubscribe later and find your gallery and settings as you left them. You also keep ownership of the images and videos you created, with limits on commercial use that depend on your business revenue and whether you upscaled someone else’s work.4Midjourney. When You Can Get a Refund

Midjourney’s refund window is narrow. You qualify only if you’ve used fewer than 20 GPU minutes across the entire lifetime of your account, counting both fast/turbo and relaxed modes.5Midjourney. Requesting a Refund That’s 20 minutes total, not per billing cycle. Most people who have generated more than a handful of images are past it.

If you qualify, the refund option appears automatically during the cancellation flow. If you don’t see it, you aren’t eligible. Processing takes up to 10 business days depending on your bank, though Midjourney emails a confirmation within minutes of approval. Accounts suspended for violating community guidelines don’t get refunds regardless of usage. The Terms of Service say the same thing in plainer language: no refund for the current period, no charge once it ends.6Midjourney. Terms of Service

Downgrade Instead of Canceling

If the plan is just too expensive rather than unwanted, you can switch to a cheaper tier. On the same Manage Subscription page, scroll past your current plan and click “Downgrade Plan” under the tier you want. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal date, not immediately, and there’s no prorated refund for time left on the current plan.7Midjourney. Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan You finish out what you paid for, and the lower rate starts on the next billing date.

If You Can’t Log In to Cancel

Locked out of the Discord or Google account you used to sign up? Email billing@midjourney.com with your Midjourney ID. You can find that ID on the Account Settings page at midjourney.com/profile-settings if you’re signed in on another device, or by running the /userid command in Discord.8Midjourney. Contacting Support You’ll get an automated reply with a ticket number and a human follow-up after that.

If you’ve lost both your login and your Midjourney ID, send as much identifying information as you can: the email tied to your Discord or Google account, your approximate signup date, and the last four digits of the card on file. Billing disputes that can’t be resolved through Midjourney support can be escalated through your bank or card issuer as a last resort.
