How to Cancel a Paramount+ Free Trial Before You’re Charged

To cancel a Paramount Plus free trial before you’re charged, cancel through whichever company is actually billing you — Paramount+ directly, Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, or Walmart+ — and do it before your trial’s last day. One catch: Paramount+ no longer offers a free trial through its own website or app. Trials now only exist through third parties like Amazon Prime Video (a seven-day trial on the add-on channel) or Walmart+ (a 30-day trial on the bundled membership). If your trial converts, you’ll be charged $9 or $14 per month depending on the plan.

First, Find Out Who Is Billing You

Canceling on the Paramount+ site does nothing if Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, or Walmart is the one processing your payment. Pull up your bank or credit card statement and look at the merchant name. You’ll see something like “PARAMOUNT PLUS,” “APPLE.COM/BILL,” “GOOGLE*PARAMOUNT,” or “AMAZON PRIME VIDEO.”

Trial charges sometimes don’t appear until they convert, so if nothing shows up yet, check the signup confirmation email. The sender tells you which platform you went through. You can also check your device: on iPhone go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions; on Android open Google Play and go to Payments & subscriptions.

Cancel on the Paramount+ Website

If you subscribed at paramountplus.com or through a browser, smart TV, or gaming console, cancel through Paramount+ directly. Sign in at paramountplus.com, hover over your profile name in the top-right, and click Account. Under Subscription & Billing, click Cancel Subscription, then Yes, Cancel.

Expect a retention screen or two offering discounts or reminding you of shows you haven’t watched. Click through until you reach the final confirmation. A short exit survey may appear; you can skip it.

Cancel Through Apple on iPhone or iPad

If you signed up in the Paramount+ app on an iPhone or iPad, Apple handles billing. Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Paramount+, then tap Cancel Subscription. If there’s no cancel button or you see an expiration date in red, it’s already canceled.

Apple has a timing quirk that trips people up: cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, or you’ll be charged. If your trial started Monday, cancel by the following Sunday. This 24-hour buffer doesn’t apply on other platforms.

Cancel Through Google Play on Android

If you subscribed in the Paramount+ Android app, Google Play manages billing. Open the Google Play Store app, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Tap Paramount+, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription. Google Play will keep billing you until you cancel through the subscription manager.

Cancel Through Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video still offers a Paramount+ free trial as an add-on channel for Prime members. If that’s how you signed up, cancel through Amazon. Go to Amazon’s Manage Your Subscriptions page, select Your subscriptions, find the Paramount+ add-on, click Unsubscribe, and confirm.

Cancel Through Roku

If you subscribed through your Roku device itself, Roku handles billing. You have two ways to cancel:

  • On the web, go to my.roku.com/subscriptions, find Paramount+ under Active subscriptions, select Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew.
  • On the device, press Home, highlight the Paramount+ app, press the Star (*) button, select Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew.

If you subscribed on the Paramount+ website and only watch on Roku, Roku has no control over the billing. Cancel through Paramount+ directly.

Cancel a Walmart+ Bundle

Paramount+ is a bundled perk of Walmart+ membership, which comes with its own 30-day trial. If you activated Paramount+ this way, manage it through your Walmart+ account at walmart.com. Go to your account, select Walmart+, then Manage membership.

Walmart+ only lets you use one streaming benefit at a time. Switching to a different service in the bundle immediately kills Paramount+ access, and canceling Walmart+ entirely takes Paramount+ with it. No partial refund is issued for the unused streaming time.

Confirm the Cancellation Went Through

Don’t assume clicking the button worked. Look for a confirmation email in the inbox tied to whichever platform processed the cancellation. If you canceled through Paramount+ directly, log back in and check the account page — the status should read Canceled or show an expiration date instead of a next billing date.

You keep access after canceling. Free trials run through the last day of the trial period, and paid subscriptions run through the end of the billing cycle you already paid for. No refund is issued for the remaining time, but you don’t lose it either.

If You Were Already Charged

Paramount+ has a no-refund policy and will typically point you to its Terms of Use. Contacting customer support and asking politely sometimes works anyway, especially if the charge just posted and you can show you meant to cancel in time. Some users report a one-time courtesy refund, but it depends on the representative.

If your subscription runs through Apple, Google, Amazon, or Roku, request the refund through that platform instead. Apple’s process is at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, open the store and go to your purchase history. These channels are sometimes more accommodating than going to Paramount+ directly.
