How to Cancel a Topaz Subscription: Steps, Refunds, and Licenses

To cancel a Topaz Labs subscription, sign in at account.topazlabs.com, open the Subscriptions section, click Manage on your active plan, and then click Cancel Subscription. Your status changes to “Cancelled” and you keep access until the current billing period ends.1Topaz Labs Documentation. Managing Your Subscriptions Before you click, check whether you signed up on an annual commitment billed monthly, because canceling that plan mid-term triggers an extra fee.

Cancel Through the Account Dashboard

You’ll need the email and password tied to the original purchase. Forgot the password? Use the reset link on the sign-in page to send a recovery email to your registered address.

Once you’re in:

  • Open the Subscriptions section. Your active plan shows there with its renewal date and billing details.
  • Click Manage on the right side of the subscription card.
  • Click Cancel Subscription and confirm when prompted.

No further charges hit your card or PayPal after the current period ends.1Topaz Labs Documentation. Managing Your Subscriptions Cross-check the amount on your bank or PayPal statement against the plan listed in your account so you know you canceled the right one.

Watch Out for Annual Commitment Plans

Topaz Labs sells two subscription structures: straight month-to-month, and annual commitments billed monthly at a lower rate. If you signed up for the annual commitment, you cannot cancel or get a refund during the 12-month term without paying an additional fee.2Topaz Labs. Subscription Cancellation and Refund Policy The exact penalty isn’t published, so email support before you cancel to find out what you’d owe.

If you paid the full annual price upfront rather than in monthly installments, you can cancel any time through the account page. No penalty applies, but you won’t get a prorated refund for unused months either.

Refund Window

The refund window is 2 days from the date of purchase. To request one, email support@topazlabs.com within that 48-hour period.2Topaz Labs. Subscription Cancellation and Refund Policy After that, the charge stays. Topaz Labs does not issue refunds for previous billing cycles, so if you meant to cancel months ago, you won’t recover those charges by canceling now.

Automatic renewals fall under the same rule. If a renewal charge caught you off guard, email support right away and reference the charge date. On an annual-commitment plan billed monthly, canceling early can add a penalty fee on top of the lost refund.

If the Dashboard Doesn’t Work, Email Support

When the Subscriptions tab doesn’t show your plan or the cancel button fails, email help@topazlabs.com.3Topaz Labs. Contact Support Include your account email and order number, and state clearly that you want to cancel the subscription rather than ask a question about it.

Topaz Labs says it responds within 8 business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST, excluding U.S. holidays.3Topaz Labs. Contact Support There’s no phone support. If nothing arrives in that window, check spam and then send a follow-up.

Also Cancel the PayPal Billing Agreement (Optional)

If you paid through PayPal, canceling on the Topaz Labs site should stop future charges on its own. Some users revoke the PayPal billing agreement as a second layer of protection:

  • Log into PayPal and open Settings.
  • Click Payments, then Subscriptions and Saved Businesses (sometimes labeled Automatic Payments).
  • Find Topaz Labs in the list and cancel the automatic payment.

Revoking authorization in PayPal blocks future billing even if something goes wrong on the Topaz Labs side.4PayPal. What Is an Automatic Payment and How Do I Update or Cancel One Doing this without also canceling through Topaz Labs can produce failed-payment notices instead of a clean close-out on your account, so cancel on the Topaz side first.

What You Keep After You Cancel

What remains usable depends on when you first bought in, because Topaz Labs changed its licensing model in late 2025.

Perpetual Licenses Purchased Before October 3, 2025

If you bought a perpetual license before that date, you own that version permanently. Your account page holds a download link for the last version released during your paid upgrade period.5Topaz Labs. User Licenses and Upgrade Licenses Canceling a later subscription reverts you to that older standalone version. You lose access to the Studio application and any features exclusive to it, but the legacy software keeps working. New perpetual licenses are no longer sold.

Current Subscription-Only Plans

Starting in late 2025, Photo AI, Video AI, and Gigapixel moved to subscription-only for all new versions.6CG Channel. Topaz Labs to End Perpetual Licenses of Its Software The Studio versions of these apps require an active subscription. When the subscription ends, the Studio software stops working and shows a renewal prompt. If you never held a perpetual license, canceling means you lose the software entirely once your billing period runs out.

Some newer AI models are only in the Studio releases and aren’t available in the older perpetual versions. If you rely on those, cancellation means losing them unless you resubscribe.
