To cancel a Waves subscription, log into your account at waves.com and turn off auto-renew on the cancellation page at /account/cancel-subscriptions before your next renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you already paid for, and Waves does not issue refunds for unused time.1Waves. Waves Terms of Use
Steps to Turn Off Auto-Renew
- Sign in at waves.com with the account you used to buy the subscription.
- Open your account settings and go to the cancel subscriptions page (
/account/cancel-subscriptions). - Click through the confirmation prompts. Waves may show retention offers before it accepts the cancellation.
- Save the on-screen confirmation and the follow-up email. If a charge shows up after you canceled, that email is your evidence.
Your renewal date is tied to your original purchase date and cannot be changed, so check it in your account before you cancel. As long as auto-renew is off before that date, the next cycle will not be charged.1Waves. Waves Terms of Use
If You Pay Through PayPal
When PayPal is the payment method, the recurring charge may live on PayPal’s side. Canceling on the Waves site alone might not stop the next payment. Log into PayPal, open your payment settings, find the recurring payment tied to Waves, and cancel the billing agreement there too so both systems match.2PayPal. How To Cancel Recurring Payments in 4 Ways
Cancel Each Subscription Separately
If you hold more than one Waves subscription, canceling one does not cancel the others. Each plan has its own renewal date tied to when you bought it, so you have to turn off auto-renew on each one from the same account settings page.1Waves. Waves Terms of Use This is where people get billed for a plan they thought they had already dropped. Check your dashboard for every active subscription before you close the tab.
What Happens to Your Plugins After You Cancel
Cancellation does not cut off your plugins right away. You keep full access to every subscription plugin through the end of the period you already paid for, whether that is the rest of the month or the rest of the year.3Waves. Waves Creative Access Plugin Subscriptions About 14 days before expiration, Waves plugins display an alert that a license re-sync is needed, which gives you a window to bounce or export any sessions that depend on them.
Once the period ends, sessions that use a subscription-only plugin will either bypass the plugin, show a license error, or fail to load the plugin chain, depending on your DAW. Audio you already recorded and bounced to stems stays intact, but live plugin processing stops. Finish active mixes or print your effects before the subscription lapses.
Perpetual Licenses Are Not Affected
Plugins or bundles you bought outright before subscribing to Creative Access stay yours. Those perpetual licenses do not expire when you cancel the subscription, and you can install and run them through Waves Central by selecting only those products on the Install Products page.4Waves. Refunds for Unused Time
Waves does not refund partial periods or unused subscription time. The EULA states that fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law, and the Terms of Use confirm that cancellation only takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.1Waves. Waves Terms of Use Cancel three months into an annual plan and you keep access for the remaining nine, but no prorated money comes back. The upside: since the period is already paid, there is no penalty for canceling the moment you decide to, and no benefit to waiting until the last day.
If the Website Will Not Let You Cancel
Locked out of your account, lost your credentials, or the cancellation page will not load? Waves asks that subscription and billing issues go through an Orders ticket rather than a phone call. The Orders support page is at waves.com/contact-orders.5Waves. Contact Us
Phone support is also available at +1-865-909-9200 ext. 3, Monday through Thursday from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. Waves recommends email over phone for subscription questions, so the ticket route will usually get a faster response. Save the ticket number, screenshot the exchange, and keep every confirmation they send.
