How to Cancel a Weather Channel Subscription on iPhone, Android, and Roku

To cancel your Weather Channel subscription, go to the service that charges you each year — Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon, or weather.com itself — and turn off the renewal there. The Weather Channel can’t cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google, and uninstalling the app doesn’t stop the charge either. Match the cancellation to the biller, and you’re done.

Find Out Who Is Actually Billing You

Pull up a recent bank or credit card statement before you do anything else. The transaction description names the biller. A charge reading “GOOGLE*Weather” means Google Play. “APPLE.COM/BILL” means Apple. “TWC” or anything referencing weather.com means you subscribed directly on the website. Roku and Amazon show their own names when they handle the billing.

If the statement isn’t clear, open the Weather Channel app and check the account or profile section. It often shows your subscription status or points you to the store that manages it. The premium plan runs $29.99 per year and renews automatically until you cancel through the right platform.

If You’re Still in the Free Trial

New subscribers get a 7-day free trial that converts to a $29.99 annual plan on day eight. Cancel any time during the trial on the same platform you signed up with, and you won’t be charged. Apple and Google both show the trial expiration date on the subscription management screen, and canceling right after signup still leaves the trial features active for the remaining days.7The Weather Channel. What Happens After You Cancel

You should get a confirmation email from the platform that processed the cancellation. Save it. If a charge ever gets disputed later, that email is your proof you canceled on a specific date. The subscription screen in the app or on the platform’s account page should also show “Expires on [date]” or “Canceled.”

Your account drops to the free version once the paid period ends. The app still works for basic forecasts, with ads back in and the extended radar and forecast features gone.

Check next month’s statement to confirm no new charge appeared. If one did, start with the billing platform. Apple, Google, Roku, and Amazon all have dispute processes for subscription charges, and Google Play gives you up to 120 days from the transaction date to report an unauthorized charge.8Google Play Help. You can also go through your bank. Federal law lets you stop a preauthorized recurring electronic transfer by telling your financial institution at least three business days before the next scheduled payment, and the bank may ask for written confirmation within 14 days.9Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1693e – Preauthorized Transfers

When charges keep coming after a cancellation, it’s almost always because someone canceled on weather.com while the billing was actually through Google Play, or the other way around. Match the cancellation to the biller on your statement and the problem usually solves itself.
