To cancel an Acely subscription, use the same channel you signed up through: Acely’s website if you subscribed at acely.com, the Apple App Store if you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, or Google Play if you subscribed on Android. Canceling in the wrong place will not stop the charges, and Acely asks that you cancel at least one business day before your next billing date to avoid the next bill. Here is how to cancel your Acely subscription cleanly, and what to do if a charge shows up after you thought you were done.
Check Where You’re Being Billed
Look at your most recent Acely charge on your bank or card statement. If the merchant reads “Acely,” you subscribed through the website. If it reads “Apple.com/bill” or “Google Play,” the app store is handling the billing and you have to cancel there. Canceling inside the Acely app itself will not stop app store charges, because Apple and Google process those payments independently.
While you’re in your account or on your latest receipt, note your next billing date. That is the deadline you’re working against.
Cancel on the Acely Website
If you signed up at acely.com:
- Log in and click “Your Account” under your user profile in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Open the “Manage Billing” section and follow the prompts to cancel.
- Watch for a confirmation email from support@acely.com. Acely says cancellation requests can take up to three business days to process.
You keep access to paid features through the end of your current billing cycle. Acely does not issue partial or pro-rated refunds for unused time.1Acely. Pricing That matters most on the quarterly and annual plans, where you’ve already paid a lump sum: canceling in month four of an annual plan still leaves you with access through month twelve, but no money comes back.
If you can’t log in, email support@acely.com with your account email, the date you want the subscription to end, and any recent transaction details. Keep the email thread. A written record is what protects you if charges continue.
Cancel Through the Apple App Store
If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, Apple controls the billing:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap “Subscriptions.”
- Find Acely, tap it, and tap “Cancel Subscription.”
If there is no cancel button, or you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
For a refund on a recent charge, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose “Request a refund,” select a reason, pick the Acely charge, and submit. Cancel Through Google Play
On Android, uninstalling the Acely app does not cancel the subscription. The subscription lives on your Google account and has to be canceled separately:
- Open the Play Store app and go to your subscriptions through your profile.
- Select the Acely subscription.
- Tap “Cancel subscription” and follow the prompts.4Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
For a refund, go to play.google.com, click your profile picture, open “Payments & subscriptions,” then “Budget & order history,” and click “Report a problem” next to the charge. Google typically responds within one to four business days. If more than 48 hours have passed since the purchase, Google may send you back to Acely to handle the refund directly.5Google Play Help. Check the Score Improvement Guarantee Before You Cancel
Acely’s standard policy gives no pro-rated refunds, but the score improvement guarantee is a separate path to money back. Acely promises a full refund of subscription fees paid during a qualifying three-month period if you meet every eligibility requirement and still do not gain at least 200 points on the SAT or 5 points on the ACT. The refund covers subscription fees only, not test registration, books, or outside tutoring.6Acely. Score Improvement Guarantee The eligibility rules are specific, so read the guarantee page before you assume you qualify.
If a Charge Appears After You Cancel
Start with the channel that billed you. For a website subscription, reply to support@acely.com with your cancellation confirmation attached. For an app store charge, use the Apple or Google Play refund process above.
If that does not resolve it, you can dispute the charge with your credit card issuer. Federal law requires the issuer to acknowledge a written billing dispute within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days, provided you send the dispute to the issuer’s billing inquiry address within 60 days of the statement showing the error. Send it by certified mail. Include your account number, the charge amount, an explanation, and a copy of your cancellation confirmation.7Federal Trade Commission. Federal law also requires online subscription services to provide a straightforward way to stop recurring charges.
