How to Cancel Acuity Subscription: Classic, Squarespace, and App Stores

To cancel an Acuity Scheduling subscription, you have to cancel through whichever system is actually charging you: classic Acuity billing, Squarespace billing, or the Apple or Google app store you originally signed up through. Picking the wrong dashboard is the single most common reason people keep getting charged after they thought they’d canceled.

Check Which Billing System Charges You

Before you click anything, figure out where the money is coming from. If you log into Acuity using a Squarespace account, your billing runs through Squarespace. If you log in with a standalone Acuity email and password, you’re on classic Acuity billing.1Squarespace Help Center. Acuity Scheduling Pricing, Billing, and Invoices

Still not sure? Look at your bank or card statement. A charge labeled “Squarespace” means Squarespace billing. A charge labeled “Acuity Scheduling” means the classic system. And if the charge comes from Apple or Google, you subscribed through an app store and have to cancel there — nowhere else will work.

Cancel on Classic Acuity Billing

If you log in with an Acuity account:

  • In Acuity, click “My Account” or “Manage Billing” in the left sidebar.
  • Scroll to the “Current Plan” section.
  • Click “Cancel Subscription,” then “Confirm Cancellation.”

Cancellation is immediate. You’re downgraded to the legacy free plan, charges stop, and your data stays saved, but clients can no longer book appointments through your scheduler.2Acuity Scheduling Help Center. Cancel on Squarespace Billing

If your Acuity account is tied to Squarespace:

  • Open the billing section through your Squarespace account dashboard.
  • Find your Acuity plan in the list of active subscriptions.
  • Click “Cancel Scheduling Subscription,” then “Cancel Subscription,” then “Confirm.”

Timing works differently here. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing cycle rather than ending the moment you click. After it expires, you can still view past appointments and export client data, but you can’t make changes in Acuity or take new bookings.3Acuity Scheduling Help Center. One thing to watch: existing appointments already on your calendar are not automatically canceled, but reminder and follow-up emails to clients will stop sending.4Acuity Scheduling Help Center. Cancel if You Signed Up Through an App Store

Subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store aren’t managed inside Acuity or Squarespace. You have to cancel through the store itself, or the charges keep coming.

Apple

On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap “Subscriptions,” find Acuity, and tap “Cancel Subscription.” On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, go to “Account Settings,” then “Subscriptions,” and cancel from there. If Acuity isn’t listed, check your email for an Apple receipt to confirm which Apple Account was used.5Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

Google Play

On Android, go to your subscriptions in Google Play, select the Acuity subscription, and tap “Cancel subscription.” Uninstalling the app does nothing — the charge continues until you cancel in Google Play itself.6Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

What About a Free Trial?

Free trials work differently. You can’t actively cancel one. If you don’t upgrade to a paid plan before the trial ends, it expires on its own, your settings stay saved, and clients can’t book unless you subscribe.7Squarespace Help Center. Starting an Acuity Scheduling Trial

If you want to stop people from booking during the remainder of the trial, go to the Availability panel and remove all hours. If Acuity is embedded on a Squarespace site, remove the scheduling block from your pages too.7Squarespace Help Center. Starting an Acuity Scheduling Trial

Export Your Data First

Do the exports before you cancel, while you have full access. Acuity lets you download two CSV files. The appointment export covers start and end times, client names, phone numbers, email addresses, appointment types, pricing, payment status, discount codes, notes, appointment IDs, and intake form responses if you used them. The client list export covers names, email addresses, phone numbers, notes, and days since last appointment.8Acuity Scheduling Help Center. Exporting Acuity Scheduling Appointments and Clients

If you’re moving to another scheduling tool, these two files are what you’ll need to bring with you.

Canceling Is Not the Same as Deleting

This trips people up constantly. Canceling stops the billing and keeps your data; deleting erases the account.

On classic billing, cancellation downgrades you to the free plan and your data stays intact.2Acuity Scheduling Help Center. Deleting does. For classic Acuity accounts, cancel first, then go to “My Account,” scroll to the “Current Plan” section, and click “Delete My Account” followed by “Confirm Account Deletion.” Afterward you can’t log in, you can’t retrieve past data, and the scheduler and its content are gone for good.9Acuity Scheduling Help Center. For Squarespace-linked accounts, go to account.squarespace.com, click the three dots on your Acuity subscription card, click “Delete,” and confirm. Same warning: the scheduler, data, and content become unrecoverable.10Acuity Scheduling Help Center. Delete Acuity With a Squarespace Account

Refunds Are Limited, So Cancel Before Renewal

Don’t count on getting money back. Monthly plans are not refundable. Annual plans are refundable only within the first 14 days of your initial payment. Renewal charges are non-refundable, though Squarespace sends a reminder email 15 days before each renewal, which gives you a window to cancel before the charge posts.11Squarespace Help Center. Acuity Scheduling Refund Policy Legacy Acuity accounts are also ineligible for refunds.

If you’ve decided to leave, cancel before the renewal date rather than after. That one piece of timing is worth more than any support ticket you could file afterward.
