To cancel an Adobe Audition subscription, sign in at account.adobe.com, open your Plans page, and work through the six-step cancellation flow. Whether that costs you anything depends on your plan: an annual plan billed monthly carries a 50% early termination fee on the remaining balance if you leave after the first 14 days, while a month-to-month plan ends at your next billing date with no penalty.
Check Your Plan Type First
Adobe sells Audition under two structures. The annual plan billed monthly runs around $22 per month and locks you in for 12 months. The month-to-month plan runs closer to $33 per month and lets you leave at the end of any cycle after the first 14 days.
Log into your Adobe account and look under Plans. If the word “Annual” appears anywhere, assume the early termination fee applies. This one detail decides whether canceling today costs you nothing or triggers a lump-sum charge, so confirm it before you click through anything else.
Also confirm where you originally subscribed. If you signed up through the Apple App Store or Google Play instead of Adobe’s website, your plan won’t show up on Adobe’s cancellation page at all. Those subscriptions are billed and managed by the app store.
Cancel Through Adobe’s Website
The cancellation path has six steps, with a couple of retention screens mixed in:
- Sign in at account.adobe.com and open your Plans page.
- Select “Manage plan” next to your Audition subscription.
- Select “Cancel your plan.”
- Review your plan details and select “Continue to cancel.”
- Choose a reason and select “Continue.”
- Review the cancellation summary, including any fees, and select “Confirm cancellation.”
Adobe sends a cancellation receipt by email. Keep it. You can also confirm the cancellation by returning to your Plans page, where the subscription should appear as canceled with an end date.1Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
Somewhere along the way, Adobe will likely offer you a discount or suggest pausing the plan. These screens are standard; ignore them or accept them, but either way the final confirmation screen is what actually ends the subscription.
If the Cancel Button Isn’t There
Sometimes “Cancel your plan” doesn’t appear. This usually means Adobe is actively processing a payment or there’s a problem with your payment method on file. If you see a message like “You will be able to manage this plan shortly,” wait 24 hours and try again. Switching browsers or devices can also help. If the option still doesn’t appear, contact Adobe support at helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and have an agent process it.1Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
Cancel Through Apple or Google Play
If you subscribed through a mobile app store, Adobe cannot cancel it for you. You have to go to the platform that billed you.
For Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Find Adobe Audition and select Cancel Subscription. If it’s not listed, check your bank statement to confirm Apple is actually the billing party.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
For Google Play, go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions on a computer, find the Adobe subscription, click Manage, then click Cancel Subscription. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription. That’s the most common Google Play billing mistake.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause or Change a Subscription on Google Play
What You’ll Pay
Within 14 Days
Canceling within 14 days of your initial purchase gets you a full refund with no penalty, on both annual and month-to-month plans.1Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
Annual Plan After 14 Days
Adobe charges a lump sum equal to 50% of your remaining contract balance. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period, then stops. The cancellation summary screen shows the exact fee before you confirm.4Adobe. Adobe Subscription and Cancellation Terms
Month-to-Month Plan After 14 Days
No early termination fee. Your most recent payment isn’t refunded, but your access continues through the end of that billing cycle and then ends.4Adobe. Adobe Subscription and Cancellation Terms
Canceling a Free Trial
If you’re still inside a free trial, cancel before the trial end date and your payment method won’t be charged. The six steps are the same. The trial end date is on your Plans page; a calendar reminder a day or two before that date is the safest way to avoid an automatic conversion to a paid plan.4Adobe. What Happens to Your Files
After cancellation, Adobe converts your account to a free Creative Cloud membership. You keep the account, but your cloud storage drops to 2 GB. If you’re over that limit, you have 30 days to download your files before you could lose access to some or all of them.5Adobe. Account Access After Plan Cancellation
Download everything you care about before you cancel, not after. If you have large multitrack sessions in Adobe’s cloud, pull them to a local drive first.
Audio files saved on your own hard drive are unaffected. Standard formats like WAV and MP3 open in any editor. Audition’s native session files (.sesx) are different: they’re edit decision lists that reference your underlying audio, and without a licensed copy of Audition you can’t reopen them to make further edits. Few alternative editors support the format. Before canceling, export any in-progress projects as finished audio files in the format you actually need.
