When the Subscription Isn’t in Your List
People get stuck here more often than you’d expect. There’s a charge on the credit card statement, but nothing shows up under Subscriptions. A few possibilities:
- Wrong Apple Account. Search your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple.” The receipt shows which account was used, and you may need to sign in with a different one to find the subscription.
- A family member’s subscription. Under Family Sharing, subscriptions stay tied to each person’s own Apple Account. The family organizer pays the bill but cannot cancel on anyone else’s behalf. Only the account holder can cancel.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
- Not billed through Apple at all. If there’s no Apple receipt in your email, the subscription may have been bought directly from the company’s website or another platform. Check the statement to see who’s actually charging you, and contact that company.
- Billed through a wireless carrier. Some subscriptions come bundled with a phone plan, sometimes as a free trial. Contact your carrier to cancel those; Apple cannot.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
Free Trials: The 24-Hour Rule
If you signed up for a free or discounted trial and don’t want to keep it, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Wait longer and Apple may charge you for the first full billing period.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple Canceling early doesn’t cut off access before the trial expires, so there’s no reason to wait until the last day.
What Happens After You Cancel
Canceling doesn’t cut off your access right away. You keep using the service until the end of the billing period you already paid for. After that date, the service stops and no further charges are made.1Apple Support. - Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Click “I’d like to,” then choose “Request a refund.”
- Select a reason and click Next.
- Choose the subscription or purchase and click Submit.
