To cancel an AskGPT subscription, use the same platform you signed up through: the AskGPT website at askgpt.app, the App Store on iPhone, or Google Play on Android. The premium plan runs about $19.99 per month, and canceling through the wrong channel is the single most common reason people keep getting charged after they thought they were done.
Check Where You Subscribed First
Pull up your bank or credit card statement and look at the merchant name on the charge. If it reads “AskGPT” or something similar, you subscribed on the website. If it reads “Apple.com/bill,” the subscription runs through Apple. If it reads “GOOGLE*AskGPT,” it runs through Google Play. Only the platform that bills you can stop billing you.
Cancel on the AskGPT Website
Log in at askgpt.app and open Settings. Find the Cancel button and confirm. Your cancellation is recorded from the moment you submit it, though AskGPT says processing may take up to three hours. You keep premium access until the end of the billing cycle you already paid for.1AskGPT. Subscription, Refund and Renewal Policy
If the Cancel button isn’t visible or your account looks wrong, email support@askgpt.app and ask them to cancel for you.1AskGPT. Subscription, Refund and Renewal Policy
Cancel on iPhone
Canceling inside the AskGPT app itself will not stop Apple from billing you. Go through iOS Settings instead:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find AskGPT in the list and tap it.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
If there’s no Cancel button and an expiration date shows in red, the subscription is already canceled. Otherwise Apple confirms on screen and premium access continues until the paid period ends.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
Cancel on Android
Open Google Play, go to your subscriptions, tap AskGPT, and select Cancel Subscription. Confirm when prompted. The subscription stops renewing at the end of the current billing period.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Google Play also offers a pause option if you just want a break. Depending on the app, you can pause from one week to three months at a time, up to three times in a 12-month period. The subscription restarts automatically on the date you pick.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
If You’re On a Free Trial
AskGPT’s free trial converts automatically to a paid subscription if you don’t cancel before it ends. The trial length and the price that will kick in are shown on the paywall when you sign up.4AskGPT. Subscription, Refund and Renewal Policy
Set a calendar reminder a day or two before the trial expires. Use the same platform steps described above. One thing to know: canceling during a trial usually cuts off access immediately rather than letting you ride out the remaining trial days, so time it near the end if you want the full trial.
What Happens After You Cancel
Cancellation doesn’t cut off your access on the spot. You keep premium features through the rest of the billing period you already paid for. Pay on the 5th, cancel on the 18th, and access runs until the 5th of the following month.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Save the confirmation email or screenshot the cancellation screen. If a charge shows up later and you need to dispute it, that record settles the question fast.
Getting a Refund
Where you paid determines who refunds you.
From AskGPT Directly
For website subscribers, AskGPT will issue a refund if you email support@askgpt.app in writing within 30 days of the charge. After 30 days, refunds are generally not available unless your local consumer protection law requires one.1AskGPT. Subscription, Refund and Renewal Policy
AskGPT asks that you contact them before filing a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks can take weeks and sometimes end with the account permanently banned from the service.1AskGPT. Subscription, Refund and Renewal Policy
Through Apple
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, and select the AskGPT charge from your purchase history. Apple usually responds within 24 to 48 hours.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
Through Google Play
Submit the request through Google Play’s support system. If more than 48 hours have passed since the purchase, Google will redirect you to the app developer, who handles the refund under its own policies.6Google Play Help. Request a Refund on Google Play
Don’t Block the Charge Instead of Canceling
Canceling your credit card or blocking the merchant at your bank does not end your agreement with AskGPT. The subscription stays active on the company’s side; you’ve only made collection impossible. Some services quietly deactivate accounts after a failed charge. Others let a balance accrue and can eventually route it to collections. It’s rare for a monthly app subscription to escalate that way, but proper cancellation takes two minutes and removes the risk.
Save Your Data First
If you’ve used AskGPT for work or research, export or copy anything you want to keep before cancellation takes effect. When premium access ends and the account downgrades, you may lose access to stored chat history. Look for an export option in the app’s settings, or copy the conversations that matter while you still have access. There’s no standard for how long AI chat apps hold data after cancellation, so assume it’s gone once the paid period ends.
If the Company Won’t Let You Cancel
If AskGPT ignores your cancellation request or hides the cancel option, file a complaint at ftc.gov/complaint. The FTC can take enforcement action against companies that make cancellation unreasonably difficult, and several states have their own automatic renewal laws requiring clear disclosure and a straightforward cancellation path. A filed complaint creates a paper trail your bank and the company will both take seriously.
