To cancel your Barry’s membership, log in to barrys.com or the Barry’s app, open the “My Account” page, and follow the cancellation prompts, or contact your home studio by phone or email. Barry’s terms let you end a membership at any time, for any reason, with no notice period written in.1Barry’s. Terms of Service The catch is on the money side: Barry’s does not issue refunds, and monthly class credits disappear when your paid period ends.
The Two Ways to Cancel
Pick whichever is easier for you. Both are valid under Barry’s terms.
- Online: Sign in at barrys.com or in the app, go to “My Account,” and use the cancellation option there. This is the fastest route and leaves you with a digital record.
- Through your studio: Call or email the location where your membership is based. Studio contact details are listed on the Barry’s website. If you can’t track down the right address, help@barrys.com also handles member requests.
Whichever you choose, keep proof. Screenshot the confirmation page if you cancel online. Save your sent email and any studio reply if you cancel that way. Then check your account in a day or two. If it still shows active, follow up right away rather than assuming the request went through.
You Will Not Get a Refund
Barry’s FAQ states that classes and membership packages are non-refundable: “We do not offer refunds on purchases for our services, beyond your statutory rights.”2Barry’s. FAQs – Your Burning Questions Answered Cancel mid-cycle and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for, then it stops. No proration.
The same rule applies to prepaid annual memberships and bulk class packages. Cancel halfway through and the unused portion is forfeited. The reference to “statutory rights” acknowledges that state consumer protection laws may override company policy in some situations, which matters in the two cases below.
New Members: Check Your State’s Cooling-Off Law
Many states give consumers a short window, usually three to five business days, to cancel a new gym contract for a full refund regardless of the gym’s own policy. If you signed up recently and are reconsidering, your state attorney general’s consumer protection division can confirm whether such a law covers you.
EU Members: 14 Days
If you’re in the European Union, you have 14 days from the purchase date to cancel a class or membership package for any reason, as long as you haven’t used it. Email help@barrys.com before the 14-day window closes.2Barry’s. FAQs – Your Burning Questions Answered
Unused Credits Disappear; Class Packs Survive
Monthly membership credits vanish when the membership ends. If your plan includes a set number of classes per month and you cancel with sessions still on the books, those sessions are gone once your final paid period expires. Barry’s will not convert them to cash or credit, and there is no grace period to use them after termination.
Class packs you bought separately are different. They are valid for one year from the date of purchase whether or not you hold an active membership.3Barry’s. Special Events First-timer offers may expire sooner under their own terms. If you cancel your membership but still have classes left on a separately purchased pack, those classes remain usable until the pack’s one-year date.
Guest passes, retail discounts, and other membership perks end when your final paid period does. Plan to spend down whatever is on your account before the end date.
Before You Cancel, Consider a Transfer or Freeze
If you’re moving and there’s a Barry’s at your destination, you can transfer your membership to a new home studio rather than cancel. Contact your current studio or email help@barrys.com to arrange it.2Barry’s. FAQs – Your Burning Questions Answered If you’re moving somewhere without a nearby studio, Barry’s says it will turn off renewals. Unused credits and packages still won’t be refunded, but ask your studio whether you can use them on visits to other regions.
Freezes are narrower. You can freeze an active membership for an injury or illness with a doctor’s note specifying the duration, or for the length of a pregnancy.4Barry’s. Can I Freeze My Membership? There is no vacation freeze. If you qualify, send the doctor’s note to your local studio. Billing pauses for the documented period and resumes afterward, which preserves whatever rate or package terms you originally locked in.
If Charges Keep Coming After You Cancel
Contact your studio first. Sometimes billing ran just before cancellation was processed and the studio can reverse the charge. If that doesn’t resolve it, dispute the charge with your bank or credit card company and provide your cancellation confirmation, the date you submitted it, and any studio correspondence. Dated proof tends to carry chargebacks.
One order-of-operations warning: do not simply tell your bank to block Barry’s charges without actually canceling through Barry’s. The company can treat the account as delinquent and send the balance to collections. Cancel formally first, then dispute any charge that shouldn’t have gone through.
