How to Cancel Chaton AI Subscription and Get a Refund: iPhone, Android, and AIBY

To cancel a ChatOn AI subscription, you have to go through whichever platform actually bills you — Apple’s App Store, Google Play, or AIBY (the developer) if you signed up directly on the ChatOn website. The cancel button inside the app won’t do it, and neither will deleting the app from your phone. Figure out the billing channel first, cancel there, and save the confirmation.

Find Out Who’s Charging You

ChatOn, developed by AIBY, sells weekly, monthly, and annual plans through three separate billing channels. Each one handles its own cancellations, so canceling in the wrong place does nothing.

Check your email for the original receipt. Apple sends from no_reply@email.apple.com, Google from googleplay-noreply@google.com, and direct purchases come from AIBY or ChatOn. If the receipt is gone, look at your card or bank statement. The descriptor usually reads “APPLE.COM/BILL,” “GOOGLE*CHATON,” or something referencing AIBY.

If you signed up through a prompt inside the app on an iPhone, Apple is almost certainly your biller. Same logic for Android and Google Play. If you entered a card on chaton.ai in a browser, you’re dealing with AIBY (often through Stripe).

Deleting the App Doesn’t Cancel the Subscription

Uninstalling ChatOn removes the app and nothing else. The subscription is a billing agreement between you and Apple, Google, or AIBY, and it keeps renewing whether the app is on your phone or not. People discover this months later, still paying for software they haven’t opened since spring. The only way to stop charges is to cancel through the billing platform.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

Apple manages App Store subscriptions through device settings, not inside individual apps.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap your name at the top of the screen.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Tap ChatOn in the list of active subscriptions.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

If you don’t see a Cancel button and there’s an expiration date shown in red, the subscription has already been canceled.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription from Apple

One timing trap on free trials: cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple processes the renewal a full day early, so canceling 12 hours out won’t save you from the charge.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription from Apple

Cancel on Android

You can cancel through the Play Store app or through your Google Account. Both lead to the same screen.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Through the Play Store app:

  • Open Google Play Store.
  • Tap your profile icon in the upper right.
  • Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Tap ChatOn.
  • Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

Through device settings:

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap Google, then your name, then Manage your Google Account.
  • Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Manage subscriptions.
  • Select ChatOn and cancel.

Cancel a Direct Website Subscription

If you subscribed on chaton.ai with a credit card, Apple and Google aren’t involved at all. Log in at chaton.ai and look for a billing or subscription section in your profile settings. Many direct subscriptions are processed through Stripe, in which case your cancellation may run through a Stripe-hosted billing portal rather than the ChatOn site. Search your inbox for a message from Stripe with a link to manage billing.

If you can’t find a self-serve option, contact AIBY through the form on the ChatOn website or email support@aiby.com. The same addresses handle refund requests.

What Happens After You Cancel

Access doesn’t shut off immediately. You keep the premium features through the end of the billing period you already paid for, then the account drops to the free tier. Pay on June 3, cancel on June 15, and you still have premium through July 3.

Save the confirmation. A screen notification, an email, or a status change showing an expiration date all work. If a charge shows up after your confirmed cancellation, that record is what you’ll use to dispute it.

Getting a Refund for a Charge That Already Hit

Canceling stops future charges but doesn’t claw back ones that already posted. Where you ask for a refund depends on who billed you.

Apple

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, select Request a refund, choose a reason, pick the ChatOn charge, and submit. Decisions usually come within 48 hours. You can’t submit while a charge is still pending — wait for the emailed receipt.3Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought from Apple

Google Play

Within 48 hours of the charge, you can request a refund directly in Google Play. After 48 hours, Google sends you to the developer, since refund authority shifts to AIBY at that point.4Google Play Help. Apps, Games, and In-App Purchases (Including Subscriptions) Refund Policies

Direct AIBY Purchases

AIBY’s refund policy gives first-time subscribers 7 days on a monthly plan, 10 days on a three-month plan, and 14 days on an annual plan, counted from the first payment. Auto-renewals get tighter treatment: 5 days from the renewal date on annual plans, and other auto-renewals are handled at AIBY’s discretion on a prorated basis. Subscribers in the EU, UK, and Switzerland have a 14-day statutory withdrawal right regardless of plan; Brazil has a 7-day right; New York residents can recover an auto-renewal charge that exceeded the initial price if they ask within 14 days of the renewal.5ChatOn. If Charges Keep Coming After You Cancel

When you’ve canceled and the charges won’t stop, or you’ve lost access to the account that holds the subscription, ask your bank to place a stop payment order on the recurring transaction. Give the order at least three business days before the next scheduled charge. You can do it by phone, in person, or in writing; if you call, the bank may ask for a written follow-up within 14 days.6Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Expect a bank fee, commonly $15 to $35. A stop payment usually lasts about six months, and if the merchant tries a different billing descriptor you may need to place another. Treat this as a backup after normal cancellation has failed — it blocks the payment but doesn’t formally end the subscription agreement with the developer.
