How to Cancel Copy My Data: iPhone, Android & PayPal

To cancel Copy My Data, go to the app store that processed your original payment: the App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android, or PayPal if that’s what you used to subscribe. The app itself has no cancel button. Each route takes under two minutes once you know where to look, and canceling stops future charges without touching any refund you may also be owed.

Find Out Who’s Actually Billing You

Pull up the charge on your bank or credit card statement first. Apple charges appear as “apple.com/bill.” Google Play charges show up as “GOOGLE*” followed by an app name or generic label. If you see PayPal instead, the payment is running through PayPal’s automatic payments system and has to be stopped there, even if you originally signed up on an iPhone or Android device.

Cancel on iPhone

Apple manages every App Store subscription from your device settings.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Find Copy My Data in the list and tap it.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

If there’s no Cancel button, or you see an expiration date in red, the subscription is already canceled and won’t renew.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple Without your iPhone, you can do the same thing at reportaproblem.apple.com by signing in with your Apple Account and locating the subscription in your purchase history.

Cancel on Android

Google handles cancellations through the Play Store.

  1. Open your subscriptions page in Google Play. You can search “Google Play subscriptions” in your browser or go through Settings → Google → Manage your Google Account → Payments & subscriptions → Manage subscriptions.
  2. Select the Copy My Data subscription.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription.
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm.

Google may ask why you’re canceling. Pick any reason and continue.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Cancel Through PayPal

When PayPal is the processor, you have to revoke the payment authorization inside your PayPal account. Log in, then:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click Payments.
  3. Select Automatic Payments (sometimes labeled “Subscriptions and saved businesses”).
  4. Find Copy My Data or the developer’s name and cancel the authorization.

Revoking the PayPal authorization stops the money from leaving your account even if the subscription technically remains active on the developer’s end.3PayPal. Automatic Payment – Update Recurring Payments

Get a Refund for Charges Already Taken

Canceling stops the next charge. It does not reverse one that already posted. Refunds are a separate request.

Apple

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in. Tap “I’d like to,” choose “Request a refund,” select a reason, pick the Copy My Data charge from your purchase history, and submit. Apple typically responds within 24 to 48 hours.4Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple

Google Play

Google’s refund policy gives you the best odds within 48 hours of the charge. After that, Google directs you to the app developer, who sets their own policy.5Google Help. Approval gets less likely the longer you wait.

What Access You Keep After Canceling

On both Apple and Google, Pro features stay available until the current billing period ends. Pay on the 5th, cancel on the 12th, and you still have the subscription through the end of that month. The listing in your settings switches from a renewal date to an expiration date.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple After expiration, the app reverts to its free version, which may limit or block transfers. If you still have data to move, finish before that date.

If Charges Keep Appearing After You Cancel

A charge sometimes posts right after cancellation when the timing fell too close to the billing date. Open your subscription settings again and confirm the cancellation actually registered. If the subscription shows as canceled and the charges continue, that’s a billing error, not an active subscription.

Dispute it with your bank or credit card company. Most issuers allow chargebacks on recurring charges you’ve already canceled. Have a screenshot of the expiration date from your subscription settings ready when you call.
