How to Cancel DashPass and Get a Full Refund

To cancel DashPass and get a refund, open the DoorDash app or website, go to Manage DashPass, and cancel at least 24 hours before your next scheduled payment; then contact DoorDash support to request a refund on the most recent charge, which is most likely to be approved if you haven’t used any DashPass benefits during the current billing cycle. The membership runs $9.99 per month or $96 per year, and missing that 24-hour window means another full cycle gets billed.1DoorDash Help Center. How Do I Cancel My DashPass Subscription

Cancel in the App or on the Website

The steps are the same on mobile and desktop:

  • Tap the account icon in the DoorDash app, or click it on doordash.com.
  • Open Manage DashPass. You’ll see your current plan, billing date, and status.
  • Tap Cancel Membership and pick a reason when prompted.
  • Confirm by selecting “Cancel DashPass,” then “Got it.”

Your benefits (free delivery and reduced service fees on eligible orders) stay active through the end of the billing period you already paid for. No further charges hit as long as the cancellation went through more than 24 hours before the renewal date.1DoorDash Help Center. How Do I Cancel My DashPass Subscription Save the confirmation email. If a charge later shows up anyway, that email is your evidence.

Canceling During a Free Trial

Trials work differently in one way that matters: if you cancel during the trial, benefits end right away rather than running to the trial’s end date. There’s no paid-for time to honor.1DoorDash Help Center. How Do I Cancel My DashPass Subscription

The 24-hour rule still applies. If you signed up planning to cancel before being charged, don’t wait until the final day. Set a reminder a few days ahead so you have a buffer. Miss the window and you’ll be billed the full rate, and reversing that charge is harder than canceling on time.

If You Got DashPass Through Amazon Prime or a Chase Card

DashPass memberships tied to Amazon Prime or an eligible Chase card still cancel through Manage DashPass, but a few details differ.

For Amazon Prime members, benefits also end if you unlink your Amazon and DoorDash accounts or cancel Prime itself. If you were already paying for DashPass when you activated the Prime offer, DoorDash cancels the paid membership and issues a prorated refund for the unused portion — a monthly plan’s remaining days, or the unused slice of an annual plan. Dropping the Prime benefit later does not automatically restore a paid subscription.2DoorDash Help Center. DashPass for Amazon Prime Members

For Chase cardholders (Sapphire, Freedom, and other eligible cards), use Cancel Membership in Manage DashPass, or “End Subscription” on Android and desktop. DoorDash recommends deleting and re-adding the Chase card as a payment method afterward so the system recognizes it cleanly if you reactivate later.3DoorDash Help Center. Requesting a Refund

Canceling stops future charges. It doesn’t claw back the one that just posted. For that, you have to ask.

Two things drive whether DoorDash will say yes. The first is benefit usage: if even one order placed after the renewal date applied a DashPass discount, the charge almost always stays. Before you contact support, open the Orders tab and check recent orders for a DashPass discount line. The second is timing. DoorDash’s terms reference a 48-hour refund window from the start of a subscription period, described as applying to the first subscription period specifically and at DoorDash’s sole discretion.

Chat and phone support run around the clock. Start a chat in the app, or call 855-431-0459.4DoorDash. DoorDash Customer Support Tell the representative you want a refund for your most recent DashPass charge and explain what happened: accidental renewal, forgotten trial, whatever applies. If they approve it, ask for a case or confirmation number so you have something to reference if the credit never lands. Refunds generally take five to ten business days.

Annual subscribers who cancel partway through the year have a harder time. DoorDash doesn’t advertise prorated refunds for annual plans outside the Amazon Prime switch described above.2DoorDash Help Center. DashPass for Amazon Prime Members Your best shot is contacting support, explaining you haven’t used the benefits, and asking for a partial refund. Results vary. A clean usage history helps.

When the Cancel Button Doesn’t Appear

Some users open Manage DashPass and find no cancel option. The workaround: open the Orders tab, pick any past order, tap “View receipt,” then the Help button in the top right. Choose “It’s something else,” then “Contact support,” and tell the chat you want to cancel DashPass. The automated flow should take over from there.

If that fails too, call 855-431-0459 and have a representative cancel on their end.4DoorDash. DoorDash Customer Support

If DoorDash Denies the Refund

You still have options when support says no.

Debit card users have rights under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act. Regulation E lets you revoke authorization for recurring charges by notifying your bank. Call your bank, tell them you’ve revoked the merchant’s authorization, and ask them to block future charges. For charges already posted, the bank can open a billing dispute.

Credit card users can file a chargeback through the card issuer. Processes vary, but you’ll generally need to show the charge was unauthorized or that the merchant refused a valid refund. Keep your cancellation confirmation email and any support chat transcripts. The bank will want documentation.

The FTC’s click-to-cancel rule, finalized in late 2024, requires subscription sellers to make cancellation as simple as signup and to stop charges immediately upon cancellation.5Federal Trade Commission.
