How to Cancel Disney Plus on Amazon or Fire TV

To cancel Disney Plus on Amazon, you have to cancel through your Amazon account, not through Disney. When Amazon is your billing provider, Disney doesn’t hold your payment details, so the cancel buttons inside Disney’s app and website won’t stop the charges. The whole thing takes about two minutes once you’re on the right page.

First, Confirm Amazon Actually Bills You

Sign in at disneyplus.com and open your Account page. Under Subscription, you’ll see the name of your billing provider. If it says Amazon, keep reading. If it says Disney, Apple, Google, or another partner, cancelling through Amazon will do nothing.1Disney+. How Do I View My Disney+ Subscription Information?

Which Kind of Amazon Subscription You Have

Amazon sells Disney Plus two different ways, and they live in two different parts of your account. If you look in the wrong place, your subscription simply won’t be there.

  • Prime Video Channel: you signed up inside the Prime Video app or website and watch Disney Plus content through the Prime Video interface. Managed at amazon.com/myac under Your Subscriptions.
  • Appstore subscription: you downloaded the Disney Plus app on a Fire TV or Fire Tablet and subscribed through the app itself, then watched in the standalone Disney Plus app. Managed under Your Apps and Subscriptions in your Amazon account.2Amazon. Not sure which? Check both. It will only appear in one.

Cancel an Appstore Subscription

Disney’s own help page points to a shortcut: go directly to amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions, sign in, open your Disney Plus subscription, and select Cancel Subscription.4Disney+. Billing Partnerships on Disney+ – Section: How Do I Pay for Disney+ Through Amazon?

You can also cancel from a Fire TV or Fire Tablet without a browser. On Fire TV, open Settings, then Account and Profile Settings, then Subscriptions. On a Fire Tablet, open the Appstore app and go to your subscriptions. Navigating with a remote is clunky, though, so a browser is usually faster.

What Happens After You Cancel

Access doesn’t cut off immediately. Your subscription stays live through the end of the billing period you already paid for, and after that date both the service and the billing stop.3Amazon. Amazon sometimes offers a self-service refund inside the cancellation flow. If you accept it, cancellation is immediate and access ends at the same time. If you don’t see that offer and you want to stop right away instead of riding out the period, Amazon says to contact its customer service.3Amazon. Cancel Your Prime Video Add-On Subscription

Things That Do Not Cancel Your Subscription

These come up constantly. None of them stops the charges.

  • Uninstalling the Disney Plus app. Deleting the software has no effect on the billing agreement Amazon has on file. The subscription keeps renewing.
  • Removing your credit card from Amazon. Amazon uses backup payment methods on active subscriptions, so a different card on file may be charged instead.6Amazon. Manage Your Backup Payment Methods
  • Deleting your Disney Plus profile. Amazon handles billing, so anything done inside Disney’s app or site is irrelevant to whether Amazon charges you.

If There’s No Cancel Button

Sometimes Disney Plus shows up in your Amazon subscriptions but has no cancel option. That usually means you’re in the wrong section. If nothing appears under Memberships and Subscriptions, go to amazon.com/myac, choose Prime Video Channels, find Disney Plus, and select Cancel Channel.

If Disney Plus doesn’t appear in either place, Amazon probably isn’t your biller after all. Recheck the Subscription section of your account at disneyplus.com; if Disney bills you directly, cancel through the Disney Plus website instead.
