How to Cancel Disney+ Subscription on Any Device

To cancel your Disney Plus subscription, you have to go through whichever company bills you. If Disney charges your card directly, you cancel on DisneyPlus.com. If you signed up through Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, or a mobile carrier like Verizon, you have to cancel inside that company’s account tools instead. Disney+ can’t stop charges it doesn’t control, which is why so many “canceled” subscriptions keep billing.

Find Out Who Actually Bills You

Check your bank or credit card statement first. If the charge reads “Disney+” or “Disney Plus,” Disney bills you directly. If it reads “Apple,” “Google,” “Amazon,” or your carrier’s name, that company is the biller and that’s where the cancel button lives.

You can also check inside Disney+. Log in through a browser, open your Account page, and look under Subscription. The billing details show which company processes your payment. When a third party handles billing, Disney+ will tell you so but won’t give you a cancel button for that subscription.

Cancel a Subscription Billed by Disney

If Disney bills you directly, use a computer or mobile browser:

  • Log in to your account at DisneyPlus.com.
  • Select your profile icon, then Account.
  • Find your subscription under the Subscription heading.
  • Select Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.

Disney will ask why you’re leaving and may offer a discount to stay. Keep clicking until you reach the final confirmation screen. If you stop before that last step, nothing happens and the charges continue. A lot of people think they canceled when they really just closed the browser partway through.

Once confirmed, you keep access until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for. After that date the account goes inactive and no further charges hit your card.

Cancel Through Apple

If you subscribed on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV and Apple handles the billing:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap your name at the top of the screen.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Select Disney+ from the list.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription.

If there’s no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled. You cannot cancel an Apple-billed Disney+ subscription from the Disney+ app or website.

Cancel Through Google Play

For Android users who signed up through the Play Store:

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • Tap the profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Manage subscriptions.
  • Select Disney+.
  • Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.

Cancel Through Amazon

If you subscribed through an Amazon Fire TV device or Prime Video Channels, cancel from your Amazon account. Go to Amazon.com, open your account settings, and find Memberships & Subscriptions. Locate the Disney+ entry and follow the cancellation steps there. The Disney+ app on your Fire TV can’t process this cancellation.

Cancel If You Subscribed Through Roku

Roku is the exception that catches people off guard. Even if you signed up for Disney+ on a Roku device, Roku directs you to Disney+ to cancel. Disney manages its own billing on Roku, unlike most other streaming apps. Use the direct Disney+ cancellation steps above, or call Disney+ support at 888-905-7888.

Cancel a Verizon or Carrier Bundle

Some mobile carriers include Disney+ as a perk on certain phone or internet plans. On Verizon, open the My Verizon app, go to the “Me” tab, select “Manage products & plan perks,” find the Disney Bundle, tap Unsubscribe under your phone number, and confirm. One warning: if you remove it, you may not be able to re-add it unless your current plan still includes it as a feature.

Other carriers follow similar patterns. Check your carrier’s app or website. The Disney+ app and website cannot remove a carrier-provided subscription.

If You Have the Disney Bundle

The Disney Bundle combines Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, and two different companies may be billing you. If Disney bills for the bundle, cancel at DisneyPlus.com/account. If Hulu bills for it, cancel at Hulu.com/account.

One trap: if you had separate Disney+ or ESPN+ subscriptions before signing up for the bundle through Hulu, those original subscriptions keep billing you on their own. Canceling the bundle does not cancel the older standalone subscriptions. Each one has to be canceled individually, or you’ll keep paying for services you thought were already covered.

Refunds and Remaining Access

Disney+ does not offer prorated refunds. When you cancel, you keep watching until the end of the billing period you already paid for, and then access stops. There’s no partial refund for the unused portion.

This matters most for annual subscribers. If you paid $189.99 for a year and cancel three months in, you keep access for the remaining nine months but get none of that money back. The same applies to the $11.99 monthly ad-supported plan and the $18.99 monthly ad-free plan: you’ve paid through the end of the period, and that’s when your access ends.

Your account itself isn’t deleted after cancellation. Disney keeps your profile, watch history, and settings so that if you resubscribe later, everything is still there.

Deleting Your Account Is a Separate Step

Canceling stops the charges. It does not erase your data. If you want Disney to delete your account information, profiles, watchlists, and preferences, you have to cancel first and then delete, because an account with an active subscription can’t be deleted.

  • Log in at DisneyPlus.com through a browser.
  • Open your profile, then Account.
  • Under Other Settings, select Delete Account. If this option is grayed out, your subscription probably hasn’t finished canceling yet.
  • Enter the one-time passcode sent to your email.
  • Confirm deletion.

Deletion is permanent. Also note that removing your Disney+ account does not remove your broader MyDisney account, which covers other Disney services like theme park reservations and shopDisney. For that, contact Disney customer support separately.

If You’d Rather Call

Disney+ phone support is 888-905-7888. That’s useful if you’re running into technical issues with the online cancellation, can’t figure out who bills you, or have questions about a bundle. The phone line can cancel direct Disney+ subscriptions but cannot cancel subscriptions billed by Apple, Google, Amazon, or your carrier.
