To cancel a Dobbies Club Plus membership, email customer.service@dobbies.com with your full name, membership number, and the email address linked to your account. There is no self-service cancellation button in your online account for paid memberships. If you’d rather call, the customer service number is 0131 5616 406.1Dobbies Garden Centres. Membership and Marketing Preferences
You can send the request at any point in your membership year. Your Club Plus benefits stay active until the end of the annual period you already paid for, then the account converts to the free Dobbies Club tier rather than being closed.2Dobbies Garden Centres. Dobbies Club Terms and Conditions
Cancelling a Free Trial Is Different
If what you signed up for is a free trial of Club Plus rather than a paid year, the process changes and can be done online. Go to dobbies.com/free-trial-cancellation, enter your temporary membership card number and email address, and submit the form.3Dobbies Garden Centres. Free Trial Cancellation
The deadline catches people out. You must cancel a free trial at least seven days before its expiry date. Leave it later and you may still be charged the full £16.50 annual fee.4Dobbies Garden Centres. Help Centre – Loyalty If you can’t find your trial details, contact customer service before the deadline rather than after.
Stopping Auto-Renewal
Club Plus costs £16.50 a year and renews automatically on the card you signed up with.5Dobbies Garden Centres. Dobbies Club Plus Your cancellation email needs to reach Dobbies before the renewal date to stop the next charge. If you miss that window, you have a second chance: you can also opt out within 14 days after the renewal payment is taken.2Dobbies Garden Centres. Dobbies Club Terms and Conditions
Blocking the Payment at Your Bank
If you’ve emailed Dobbies but are worried the renewal will still go through, you can ask your card issuer to block the recurring payment. Under Financial Conduct Authority guidance, your bank must stop the payment once you ask, even if you haven’t contacted Dobbies. You need to make the request by the end of the business day before the next payment is due.6Financial Conduct Authority. Recurring Card Payments
Blocking the card charge doesn’t formally cancel the membership. It only stops the money moving. Send the cancellation email as well, or you risk leaving the account active in Dobbies’ system while payment fails.
What Happens to Your Benefits and Points
Benefits don’t switch off the day you cancel. The 10% plant discount, monthly hot drink credits, and Club Plus points earning rate all run until the end of your paid year. After that the account moves to the free tier and those perks stop.2Dobbies Garden Centres. Dobbies Club Terms and Conditions
Points sit on a threshold. Club Plus members earn 2 points per £1 spent, worth 1p each, but a cashback voucher is only issued once you reach 150 points (£1.50). Anything below that rolls into the next statement period rather than being wiped. On the free tier you’ll keep earning, just at a lower rate and without the Club Plus discount.2Dobbies Garden Centres. Dobbies Club Terms and Conditions
Hot drink credits are the one benefit worth chasing before you go. Each month’s two credits expire at the end of that calendar month and don’t roll over. If you’re cancelling mid-year, use any remaining credits before the membership period ends.2Dobbies Garden Centres. Dobbies Club Terms and Conditions
Deleting Your Account Completely
Cancelling Club Plus downgrades you to the free tier; it doesn’t remove your account or your data. For full deletion, email data.protection@dobbies.com with your full name, account number, membership number, and registered email address. The data deletion request also cancels any active membership as a side effect, and Dobbies handles it under GDPR rules.1Dobbies Garden Centres. Membership and Marketing Preferences
Choose deletion only if you don’t plan to shop at Dobbies again. If there’s any chance you’ll come back and earn free-tier points, a plain Club Plus cancellation is the better route.
