To cancel an Emerald Chat subscription, you have to go through whichever platform originally billed you: the Emerald Chat website, the Apple App Store, or Google Play. Using the wrong one is the single most common reason people keep getting charged after they think they’ve canceled. Whichever route applies, your Gold features stay active until the end of the billing period you already paid for, so canceling early costs you nothing.
Find Out Who’s Actually Billing You
Open the email receipt from when you first signed up. If it came from Stripe or directly from Emerald Chat, cancel on the website. If it came from Apple, cancel in your iPhone or iPad settings. If it came from Google Play, cancel in the Play Store.
No receipt? Pull up the charge on your bank or credit card statement. “APPLE.COM/BILL” means Apple is the biller. A line starting with “GOOGLE*” means Google Play. Anything else usually points back to the Emerald Chat website.
Cancel on the Emerald Chat Website
If you signed up at emeraldchat.com, your payment likely runs through Stripe. Log in, open your profile dashboard, and look for subscription or account settings. The cancel option lives there. Some Stripe-powered subscriptions also open a customer billing portal where you can manage the subscription directly.
If you can’t find a cancel button, email support@emeraldchat.com and ask them to cancel. Include the email tied to your account and any transaction details from the original receipt.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
If you subscribed through the App Store, Emerald Chat cannot stop the payments. Apple controls the billing.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Emerald Chat in the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
If there’s no Cancel button and you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already canceled. Gold features stay available until the current period ends.
Cancel on Android
Google Play subscriptions work the same way: Emerald Chat can’t cancel them because Google handles the billing. Open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Find Emerald Chat and tap Cancel.
Do this at least 48 hours before your next renewal date. Google may still process the charge if you cut it too close to the deadline.
Confirm the Cancellation Stuck
Clicking cancel is not the same as being canceled. Look for a confirmation email from Emerald Chat, Apple, or Google, depending on the route you used. Log back in a few hours later and check that your subscription shows as canceled or set to expire at the end of the current period.
Then watch the next billing cycle on your statement. If a charge appears after you have a confirmation in hand, screenshot both the confirmation and the charge before you do anything else.
If Charges Keep Coming
Start with support@emeraldchat.com. Include your account email, the approximate date you subscribed, the amount showing on your statement, and a screenshot of the charge. Keep copies of everything you send. Card issuers generally expect you to try the merchant first before stepping in.
If that goes nowhere, dispute the charge with your credit card company. Federal law caps your liability for unauthorized credit card charges at $50, and many issuers waive even that. Write to your card issuer at the address they list for billing inquiries, and include your name, account number, and a description of the problem. The letter has to reach the issuer within 60 days of the statement that first showed the error. Once they receive it, they have 30 days to acknowledge the complaint and 90 days to resolve it. Send it certified mail so you have proof of delivery.
