To cancel your Experian Premium membership, sign in at experian.com and use the “My Subscriptions” area of your dashboard, call membership support at 1-866-617-1894, or cancel through the Apple App Store or Google Play if that’s where you originally subscribed. The process takes a few minutes, your paid features stay active through the end of the billing cycle you’ve already paid for, and your account converts to a free membership that keeps your Experian credit report and FICO Score.
Cancel Online at Experian.com
Sign in, open “My Subscriptions” from your homepage, select the subscription you want to end, click “Cancel,” and work through the prompts. Have your login email and password ready. Experian may verify your identity using the last four digits of your Social Security number.
Expect retention offers along the way, including discounts and downgrade options. Keep clicking through until you reach a confirmation screen, then screenshot it or write down any confirmation number shown. That screenshot is your proof if a billing issue comes up later.
One quirk: some users report that the site doesn’t show an explicit cancel button and instead only offers “switch to the free version.” Functionally that’s the same result. It stops the monthly charge and moves you to the free tier.

Cancel Through Apple or Google if You Signed Up on Mobile
This is the step people miss. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, Experian cannot cancel the subscription for you. Billing runs through the app store, and you have to cancel there.2Experian. Manage Your Subscriptions and Bills With Ease Calling Experian or using the website will not stop those charges.p>
Apple App Store
On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then tap “Subscriptions.” Find Experian Premium, select it, and tap “Cancel Subscription.” You can also open the App Store app, tap your profile icon, choose “Subscriptions,” and cancel from there. Apple stops future billing immediately, and you keep premium access until the current billing period ends.
Google Play Store
Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then go to “Payments & subscriptions” and select “Subscriptions.” Find Experian Premium, tap it, and choose “Cancel subscription.” Google stops future charges and lets you use the time you’ve already paid for.
Canceling During the 7-Day Free Trial
Experian offers a 7-day free trial for new Premium subscribers. Cancel within those 7 days and you won’t be charged at all.3Experian. Identity Theft Protection After the trial, billing begins automatically at $24.99 plus tax each month. Set a reminder for day 5 or 6 if you signed up just to try it out.
The cancellation route during the trial is the same: website, phone, or app store depending on how you signed up. Miss the window by a day and you’ll be charged for the first full month.
Billing, Refunds, and Insurance After You Cancel
Paid features stay active through the end of the billing cycle you’ve already paid for. Experian doesn’t prorate refunds for unused days, so there’s no advantage to canceling early in a cycle versus late. Your last charge should be the $24.99 plus applicable sales tax already billed before you canceled.4Experian. Compare Identity Theft Protection Plans and Pricing
Pay attention to the identity theft insurance. The $1 million coverage under Premium ceases on the date your membership terminates and only covers losses that occurred while the membership was active.5Experian. Identity Fraud Financial Reimbursement Terms and Conditions If you have any open identity theft claims or suspect fraud, resolve those before canceling.
What You Keep and What You Lose
Canceling doesn’t lock you out. Your account converts to a free membership that includes your Experian credit report updated daily, your Experian-based FICO Score with a tracker, Experian-only credit monitoring alerts, a dark web surveillance report, and a personal privacy scan for people-search sites.4Experian. What you lose: three-bureau monitoring (you’ll only see Experian data, not TransUnion or Equifax), the $1 million identity theft insurance, and identity restoration support.4Experian. Compare Identity Theft Protection Plans and Pricing
What to Do If Charges Continue
Check which entity billed you first. If the charge came through Apple or Google, you may have canceled with Experian but not with the app store that handles your billing. That’s the most common reason charges keep coming.
If you canceled through the correct channel and charges persist, call 1-866-617-1894 with your confirmation number or screenshot handy.1Experian. Contact Us That confirmation turns a dispute into a straightforward billing correction.
As a last resort, dispute the charge with your bank or credit card company. Most card issuers allow chargebacks for recurring charges that continued after a documented cancellation, and your screenshot or confirmation number makes that dispute far smoother.
