To cancel an ExpressVPN subscription, use the same platform that bills you: sign in at expressvpn.com if you subscribed on the website, use the Settings app on an iPhone or iPad if you subscribed through Apple, and use the Google Play Store app if you subscribed on Android. Canceling in the wrong place doesn’t stop the charges. Refunds are a separate step, and eligibility depends on where you signed up and how recently.
Check Where You’re Being Billed
Look at your credit card or PayPal statement. A charge from ExpressVPN directly means you subscribed through the website. A charge listed as “Apple.com/bill” means you subscribed through the App Store. A “Google Play” charge means you subscribed on Android. This one detail decides everything that follows. An App Store subscriber who turns off auto-renewal on the ExpressVPN website hasn’t canceled anything, because Apple is still the biller.
Have your credentials ready. Website subscribers need the email and password used at signup. App Store and Google Play subscribers work inside their Apple or Google account settings.
Cancel on the ExpressVPN Website
Sign in to your account at expressvpn.com and open your subscription settings. Click “Turn Off Auto-Renewal” and confirm. ExpressVPN will present retention offers before letting you finish; you can click through them without accepting.
Once confirmed, the dashboard shows that auto-renewal is off and lists the date your current term expires. You keep full access until that date. Canceling stops the next charge, nothing more. Save the confirmation email or take a screenshot in case a charge slips through later.
Cancel Through the Apple App Store
On an iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find ExpressVPN, tap it, and tap Cancel Subscription.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

Cancel Through Google Play
On Android, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon in the top-right, then go to Payments & Subscriptions and select Subscriptions. Find ExpressVPN, tap it, and tap Cancel Subscription. Google confirms that billing has stopped and shows when your access ends.
If ExpressVPN isn’t listed under your Google subscriptions, your account is billed somewhere else, most likely through the ExpressVPN website.
Cryptocurrency and BitPay Subscriptions
If you paid with cryptocurrency through BitPay, there is nothing to cancel. Crypto subscriptions don’t auto-renew; they expire at the end of the paid term.2ExpressVPN. Renew Your ExpressVPN Subscription You won’t be charged again unless you manually buy a new plan.

After You Cancel
Your VPN protection stays active until the end of the term you’ve already paid for. On the expiration date, the app stops connecting to ExpressVPN’s servers, and your traffic goes back to being unencrypted unless you switch to another VPN. Your account is not deleted; you can resubscribe later without creating a new one.
Watch your bank or credit card statements for one billing cycle after cancellation. If a charge appears despite the cancellation confirmation, contact ExpressVPN support with your screenshot or confirmation email. That documentation makes the dispute straightforward.
