How to Cancel Ffern Membership: Email, Skipping, and Refunds

To cancel your Ffern membership, email goodbye@ffern.co at least 48 hours before your next billing date.1Ffern. Ffern Terms of Service Ffern charges the ledger on the first working day of March, June, September, and December, so the timing of your email matters more than anything else you put in it.2Ffern. FAQs – Billing

Know Which Date You’re Racing

The ledger is a seasonal subscription tied to the solstices and equinoxes, but payment doesn’t fall on those dates. Ffern charges your card on the first working day of the launch month for each season: March, June, September, and December. Each bottle is £89 (roughly €109 depending on region), and the charge recurs automatically until you cancel or skip.2Ffern. FAQs – Billing

The deadline you care about is that billing date, not the delivery date weeks later. Once the payment goes through, that season’s order is locked in and cancellation is blocked until after you receive it.1Ffern. Ffern Terms of Service

Sending the Cancellation Email

Email goodbye@ffern.co from the address registered to your ledger account. That’s the only confirmed cancellation method Ffern lists in its terms, and using the registered email lets the team find your membership without back-and-forth.1Ffern. Ffern Terms of Service

Keep it short. A subject like “Ledger Cancellation Request” and a body with your name and registered email is enough. There’s no form, no phone tree.

Give yourself a buffer. Ffern’s stated cutoff is 48 hours before the next billing date, but if you email on the billing day itself the payment may already have processed, which pushes cancellation past that season’s delivery. A few days ahead of the first working day of March, June, September, or December is safer. If you miss the window, wait for the bottle to arrive and email again before the next quarter’s billing date.

Skipping Instead of Canceling

If you want a break rather than a permanent exit, ledger members can skip up to two deliveries per year through the online portal, and skipping keeps your spot on the ledger.4Ffern. FAQs – Ledger You aren’t charged for a skipped season, and the next release resumes automatically.

Log in and submit the skip before the first working day of that quarter’s launch month.4Ffern. FAQs – Ledger If you already know you’d want to skip three or more seasons in a year, cancellation is the cleaner option. Just know that Ffern runs a waiting list, so rejoining later isn’t instant.

Getting a Refund on a Bottle You’ve Already Been Charged For

If Ffern billed you before you could cancel, you have a 14-day return window from the date you receive the order. The main bottle box must be unopened with the seal intact. Ffern includes a small sample vial with each shipment so you can try the fragrance without breaking the seal on the full bottle.5Ffern. FAQs – Returns

Start the return through the portal: find the order in your history and select the return option. Ffern generates a free return label, and you have another 14 days after requesting it to drop the parcel at your local shipping point.6Ffern. Returns Policy Once the bottle reaches Ffern, processing can take up to 10 days.

One detail matters if you’re closing your account: the default refund for ledger members is account credit, not a return to your original payment method.5Ffern. FAQs – Returns Credit sitting in a canceled account isn’t useful, so ask about eligibility for a cash refund to your card. If credit has already been issued, you can reimburse it through the portal before your account is fully closed. Delivery charges aren’t refunded in cash refund scenarios.

What Canceling Actually Costs You

Once your cancellation is confirmed, the automatic charges stop. Ffern asks for one season’s notice where possible, but frames this as a request rather than a binding rule.4Ffern. FAQs – Ledger

The real cost is your spot. Ffern runs a waiting list and demand for ledger places regularly exceeds supply. If you cancel and change your mind later, you join the back of the queue instead of returning to your old position. That’s why the skip option exists, and it’s worth thinking about whether a pause fits your situation better than a full exit.

After you cancel, check your card statements over the next billing cycle to confirm no further charges appear. If one does, email help@ffern.co before opening a dispute with your bank; billing issues with subscription companies usually resolve faster through the merchant.
