To cancel Fitbit Premium, go back to the platform where you originally signed up — the Fitbit app, Apple’s App Store, Google Play, or fitbit.com — and cancel from inside that account. Fitbit Premium costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year, and the charges keep running until you actively cancel. Deleting the Fitbit app from your phone does not stop billing.
First, Find Out Who’s Billing You
The cancellation path depends entirely on which company processes your payment. Check your bank or credit card statement for the merchant name. A charge labeled “Apple” means you subscribed through the App Store. “Google” means Google Play or the Google Store. A charge from Fitbit directly means you signed up on fitbit.com or in the Fitbit app.
You can also check inside the Fitbit app: tap your profile picture, open Account Settings, and look at your subscription details for the billing source. Before you start, make sure you have the login credentials for whichever platform manages the payment, because you’ll need to authenticate before the cancellation goes through.
Cancel in the Fitbit App
If you subscribed directly through Fitbit, open the app and tap the Today tab, then tap your profile picture. Go to Account Settings, then Manage Subscriptions. Tap your active subscription and select Cancel Subscription.
As of May 2026, the Fitbit app is being rebranded as Google Health. Menu labels may shift, but subscription management stays under your account or profile settings.
Cancel on an iPhone
If Apple is billing you, cancel from your iPhone’s system settings, not the Fitbit app. Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find the Fitbit or Google Health entry, tap it, scroll down, and tap Cancel Subscription. If there’s no cancel button or you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled.1Apple. One trap with Apple: if you’re on a free trial, you must cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid the charge. Once the renewal processes, canceling won’t refund it — you have to request the refund separately.1Apple. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
Cancel on Android Through Google Play
Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select the Fitbit or Google Health Premium entry, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the confirmation prompts.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Cancel on Fitbit.com or the Google Store
If you signed up on the Fitbit website, log in at fitbit.com. Click the gear icon in the upper right, open the subscriptions section in the sidebar, select your active subscription, and click Cancel. You may be prompted to re-enter your password.
For a Google Store purchase, go to your Google Store subscriptions page, select Google Health Premium, and click Cancel subscription under the payment method section. Confirm in the pop-up.
Watch the Free Trial Deadline
Fitbit regularly offers free trials — commonly 90 days with a new account, and up to six months with certain new device purchases, available whether you bought the device from the Google Store or a retailer like Amazon. Every trial auto-renews into a paid subscription if you don’t cancel before it ends.
This is where most surprise charges come from. If you know you don’t want to continue past the trial, cancel right after activating it. You keep Premium access through the end of the trial period even after canceling, so there’s no reason to wait.
If You’ve Already Been Charged
Refund options depend on who billed you.
- Apple: Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the charge, and submit a refund request. Responses typically arrive within 24 to 48 hours. You can’t request a refund while the charge is still pending — wait for the email receipt.3Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
- Google Play: Open Google Play, go to your account, and find the order. Review takes one to four business days, and approved refunds arrive within about 10 business days. For unauthorized charges, you have 120 days from the transaction date to report the issue.4Google Play Help. Check the Status of a Refund Request for Google Play5Google Play Help. - Fitbit or Google directly: Contact Fitbit support through the app or website. Based on user reports, Fitbit generally cancels future charges but rarely refunds a billing period that has already started.
What Happens After You Cancel
Premium access doesn’t cut off the moment you cancel. You keep all paid features through the end of the billing period you already paid for. Cancel on day three of a monthly cycle and you have the rest of that month.
Once the paid period ends, your account reverts to the free tier. Step counting, heart rate monitoring, sleep duration, and activity logging keep working without a subscription, and your historical health data stays in your account.
What stops are the coaching and interpretation features: the AI-powered health coach, custom fitness plans, and adaptive recommendations all require an active Premium subscription. If you use those for workout planning or health guidance, line up a replacement before your access runs out.
