How to Cancel Honestly App Subscription and Get a Refund

To cancel an Honestly app subscription, go to your phone’s app store account settings — Apple ID Subscriptions on iPhone or Google Play Subscriptions on Android — select Honestly, and tap Cancel Subscription. The billing runs through Apple or Google, not through Honestly itself, so that’s where the cancellation has to happen. The process takes about two minutes.

Deleting the App Does Not Cancel the Subscription

This is the mistake that keeps people getting charged. Removing Honestly from your phone leaves the subscription running, and charges continue every billing cycle until you formally cancel through your app store account. Apple and Google treat app subscriptions as separate from app installations, so uninstalling has no effect on recurring payments.1Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play If you’ve already deleted the app, you can still cancel through your account settings or a web browser without reinstalling.

Canceling on iPhone or iPad

Apple handles billing for every app downloaded from the App Store. On iOS:

  • Open Settings and tap your name at the top of the screen.
  • Tap Subscriptions. Every active subscription tied to your Apple ID will appear.
  • Select Honestly, then tap Cancel Subscription.

A confirmation prompt shows the date your access expires. After you confirm, no further charges will be billed to your Apple ID payment method, and you keep access to Honestly’s premium features through the end of the period you already paid for.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

If Honestly isn’t in your Subscriptions list, you may be signed into a different Apple ID than the one used to subscribe. Check the email address shown at the top of Settings.

Canceling on Android

Android subscriptions are managed through Google Play, not inside the Honestly app:

  • Open Google Play and tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  • Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Select Honestly and tap Cancel subscription.

Google may ask why you’re canceling. You can skip it or pick any reason; it doesn’t affect the outcome. Once confirmed, the subscription shows an expiration date instead of a renewal date, and no further payments will be processed.1Google Play Help. Canceling From a Computer

You don’t need your phone. Both platforms let you manage subscriptions through a browser, which helps if your device is lost or broken.

For Apple, go to account.apple.com, sign in, open the Subscriptions section, click Honestly, and select Cancel Subscription.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

For Google Play, visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, sign in with the Google account tied to the subscription, find Honestly, and follow the prompts.1Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Canceling During a Free Trial

If you signed up for a free trial of Honestly Pro and don’t want to be charged when it converts, cancel before the trial window closes. Apple requires cancellation at least 24 hours before the trial ends; otherwise, the first payment processes automatically.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple On both platforms, canceling a free trial early generally lets you keep using premium features through the remaining trial period, so there’s no reason to wait until the last day.

How to Verify the Cancellation Worked

Check two things. First, return to your Subscriptions settings and confirm that Honestly now shows an expiration date rather than a renewal date. Second, look for a confirmation email from Apple or Google in the inbox tied to your account; that email is your receipt.

Take a screenshot of the confirmation screen showing the expiration date, your account email, and the subscription name. If a charge appears weeks later, that screenshot is the fastest way to resolve a dispute.

If You Were Already Charged

If a charge went through after you thought you’d canceled, or a free trial converted before you caught it, both platforms have refund processes.

Apple

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, click “I’d like to,” and select “Request a refund.” Choose a reason, select the Honestly charge from your purchase history, and submit. Apple typically responds within 48 hours. Acting quickly improves your odds.3Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple

Google Play

Google’s refund policy is more generous in the first 48 hours after a charge. Within that window, you may be eligible for a straightforward refund through the Google Play app or website. After 48 hours, you’ll need to contact Google Play support directly, and approval becomes less certain. Google only allows one refund per app purchase, so if you buy the subscription again later, a second refund isn’t available.4Google Play Help. Disputing Charges With Your Card Issuer

If you’ve canceled and confirmed it, but charges keep appearing on your credit card, you have the right to dispute them. Under federal law, you can file a billing error dispute with your card issuer within 60 days of the statement date showing the charge. The dispute must be in writing, identify the charge, and explain why you believe it’s an error. The issuer then has two billing cycles, and no more than 90 days, to investigate and resolve it.5Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors

The 60-day clock matters. If you spot recurring charges months after canceling, only the ones that fall inside that window can be disputed. This is why the cancellation screenshot is worth keeping: it proves you canceled before the charge posted, which makes the dispute straightforward for your bank to resolve.
