How to Cancel Kaspersky Subscription: Refunds, Mobile, and Bank Stops

To cancel a Kaspersky subscription, sign in to the My Kaspersky portal and turn off auto-renewal, or, if you bought through a mobile app store or a third-party reseller, cancel through that channel instead. The right path depends on where you originally paid. One boundary worth naming up front: if you’re in the United States, a federal ban that took full effect on September 29, 2024 stopped Kaspersky from delivering updates to U.S. customers, and many Windows installations were migrated to a different product called UltraAV. That may change what you actually need to cancel.

What to Have Ready Before You Start

Kaspersky’s cancellation process asks for your date of purchase, the name and email address you used at checkout, and your order number.1Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds The order number sits in the confirmation email from Kaspersky or from whichever billing provider processed the transaction. You’ll also need the password for your My Kaspersky account.

If a third party handled the payment, identify which one. Kaspersky uses Nexway, Digital River, and 2Checkout, and each runs its own cancellation portal. The company you paid appears on the confirmation email and on your bank statement.2Kaspersky. How to Disable License Auto-Renewal for Kaspersky Solutions for Home

Cancel Through the My Kaspersky Portal

For most direct purchases, this is the shortest route. Sign in at my.kaspersky.com, then:

  • Open your Subscription page.
  • Click Manage Subscription.
  • Select Cancel Subscription and confirm.1Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds

You’ll see a couple of retention prompts asking why you’re leaving or offering a discount. Click through all of them so the cancellation actually registers. Your protection keeps running through the end of the paid period, and no further charges apply.3Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancel a Mobile App Subscription

If you subscribed inside the Kaspersky mobile app, the My Kaspersky portal cannot control that billing. Use the app store instead.4Kaspersky. How to Cancel an App Subscription for Mobile Devices

iPhone or iPad

Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find Kaspersky and tap Cancel Subscription.5Kaspersky. How to Cancel an App Subscription for Mobile Devices The subscription continues until the billing period ends.

Android

Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Cancel from the Kaspersky entry.4Kaspersky. How to Cancel an App Subscription for Mobile Devices Uninstalling the app alone does not stop billing.

Cancel Through a Third-Party Billing Provider

If Nexway, 2Checkout, or Digital River shows up on your receipt, you’ll cancel with that company directly.2Kaspersky. How to Disable License Auto-Renewal for Kaspersky Solutions for Home

For Nexway, Kaspersky’s cancellation page links to a dedicated portal where you enter the order number and the email used at purchase.3Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds

For 2Checkout, go to secure.2co.com/myaccount and enter your email address or order number. 2Checkout emails you an access link. Sign in, open My Products, find the Kaspersky entry, and stop the automatic renewal. You’ll pick a reason and confirm.

Digital River works the same way through its own self-service portal, which Kaspersky’s support site links to. Locate your order and disable auto-renewal.

Ask for a Refund

Turning off auto-renewal stops future charges but does not return money already taken. Kaspersky accepts refund requests within 30 days of the order date, and this applies to both first-time purchases and automatic renewal charges processed through the Kaspersky online store.1Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds

Contact Kaspersky Customer Support with the date of purchase, the name and email on the order, and the order number.1Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds Nexway’s 30-day refund terms also apply to subscriptions purchased through its system.3Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds Outside the 30-day window, the standard policy will not cover you.

U.S. customers face a harder situation. Kaspersky has generally not offered broad refunds outside the 30-day policy despite the ban leaving the software non-functional. If you paid Amazon or another retailer, contacting that seller directly may produce a partial refund for unused time.

Stop the Charges Through Your Bank

If the online cancellation fails or you cannot reach the right portal, your bank or card issuer can act as a backstop. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says to call your bank, revoke authorization for the company to take automatic payments, and follow up in writing. Your bank may also suggest a stop payment order. After you have notified both the bank and the company, any additional payments the company initiates count as errors, and the bank can refund those charges.6Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. How Do I Stop Automatic Payments From My Bank Account Use this only after the direct cancellation routes have failed.

Confirm the Cancellation Stuck

Kaspersky sends a confirmation email once cancellation goes through. Keep it. If a charge appears afterward, that email is your evidence for a dispute. Protection stays fully active through the paid period, then stops.3Kaspersky. Cancellations and Refunds You can also open the Kaspersky application and check the license information screen; it should show an expiration date with no scheduled renewal.

If You’re in the United States

A Bureau of Industry and Security Final Determination issued in June 2024 prohibited Kaspersky and its affiliates from providing cybersecurity or antivirus products and services to U.S. persons. As of September 29, 2024, Kaspersky can no longer send antivirus signature updates, codebase updates, or operate the Kaspersky Security Network on any U.S. person’s system.7Bureau of Industry and Security. Kaspersky Lab, Inc. Prohibition

Around mid-September 2024, many Windows users had their Kaspersky installation automatically replaced by UltraAV. Mac and Android users received email instructions for the transition. If your device was migrated, the Kaspersky subscription in the old sense no longer exists, and any recurring billing you’re trying to stop may now sit with UltraAV. Renewal is unavailable to U.S. customers.8Kaspersky. License Renewal Center Outside the United States, the ban does not apply and the cancellation steps above work normally.

Deleting Your My Kaspersky Account

Canceling a subscription and deleting the account are separate actions. To remove your data, click your email in the upper-right corner of the My Kaspersky portal, open the account management area, go to the Delete Account tab, and confirm with your password.9Kaspersky. How to Delete Your Account

Two catches. You cannot delete the account while active subscriptions are linked to it, so cancel first. And if you bought through a reseller like Nexway or Digital River, deleting the My Kaspersky account does not cancel those subscriptions; they keep billing until you cancel them through the reseller.9Kaspersky.
