How you cancel Netflix on Xfinity depends on how it got on your bill. If you added Netflix as a subscription through your X1, Flex, or Xumo Stream Box, you can cancel it yourself from the device or your Xfinity account. If Netflix came included with your TV or internet package, you’ll usually need to call or chat with Xfinity to have it removed. And if Netflix isn’t on your Xfinity bill at all, Xfinity can’t cancel it: you’ll need to go through netflix.com.
Check How Netflix Is Billed on Your Xfinity Statement
Pull up your most recent Xfinity bill before doing anything else. Where Netflix appears tells you which cancellation path to use.
- Listed under Other Service Providers: Netflix is an add-on you subscribed to through your X1 or Flex device. You can cancel this yourself.1Xfinity Support. Netflix Billing Through Comcast
- Listed under Bundled Services or Regular monthly charges: Netflix is part of your Xfinity package. Removing it generally requires contacting Xfinity directly.2Xfinity Support. Netflix on X1 FAQs
If Netflix isn’t on the Xfinity bill at all, the subscription is billed directly by Netflix. Sign in at netflix.com/account and cancel from there. No menu inside Xfinity will produce a cancel button for a subscription Xfinity doesn’t handle.
Cancel a Netflix Add-On From Your X1, Flex, or Xumo Box
For add-on subscriptions, the fastest route is through the device itself.
- Open Settings on your X1 TV Box, Flex, or Xumo Stream Box.
- Go to Apps & Subscription Management.3Xfinity. Manage Your Paramount+ Subscription on Xfinity
- Select Netflix from your list of active subscriptions.
- Choose cancel and work through the confirmation prompts.
You can also get to the Apps section by pressing the Xfinity button on your remote to open the Main Menu and scrolling to the Apps row.4Xfinity Support. X1 Main Menu Overview
Cancel Through xfinity.com or the Xfinity App
Add-on Netflix can also be canceled online. Sign in at xfinity.com or open the Xfinity app, find the section for managing services, subscriptions, or streaming apps, select Netflix, and follow the prompts.
Xfinity moves the menus around from time to time. If you can’t spot a subscription management option, try searching “manage subscriptions” in the support bar, or open the in-app chat and ask an agent to take you to the right screen.
Remove Bundled Netflix by Contacting Xfinity
If Netflix is included in your Xfinity package, there’s no self-service switch to flip. Xfinity’s own guidance is to contact them to have Netflix removed from a bundled plan, and the change takes effect immediately rather than at the end of the billing cycle.2Xfinity Support. Netflix on X1 FAQs
Two ways to reach them:
- Call 1-800-934-6489 (1-800-XFINITY) and ask for Netflix to be removed from your package.
- Use the chat feature in the Xfinity app or on xfinity.com and make the same request.
Ask about pricing before you confirm. Some Xfinity plans build Netflix in as a perk, so dropping it can mean moving to a different plan tier instead of a simple line-item removal. The agent should be able to tell you what the new bill will look like.
Confirm You Have Permission to Change the Account
Only the Primary account holder or a user with the Manager role can add or cancel Xfinity services. If you’re a secondary user without Manager permissions, the cancellation options either won’t appear or will be grayed out.5Xfinity Support. Manage User Roles and Permissions on Xfinity Accounts
Not sure which you are? Sign in at xfinity.com with your Xfinity ID and try to open the service management screen. If nothing’s there, ask the Primary account holder to either handle the cancellation themselves or raise your role to Manager.6Xfinity Support. Simplified User Roles and Permissions
What Happens to Your Netflix Account After Cancellation
Canceling the Xfinity billing doesn’t erase your Netflix account. Your profiles, viewing history, and recommendations stay put. What changes is who’s charging you.
If Netflix already has a credit card, debit card, or other payment method on file, it switches to that method automatically and your service continues without a gap. If nothing’s on file, the account goes on hold until you add a payment method at netflix.com/account. Netflix generally keeps your profile data for about 10 months while an account is on hold, so you can reactivate later without starting over.7Xfinity. Disconnecting or Downgrading Xfinity Service With Netflix
If you want Netflix gone for good, this is the step people miss. Log in at netflix.com/account and remove any saved payment methods. Otherwise Netflix will pick up the backup card and keep charging. With no payment method, the account sits on hold and eventually deactivates on its own.
If the Cancel Option Isn’t There
Three things usually explain a missing cancel button.
The subscription isn’t on your Xfinity bill. Signups done at netflix.com or through a Roku, smart TV, or other device bill through Netflix, not Comcast. Cancel at netflix.com/account.
Netflix is part of a bundle. Bundled Netflix doesn’t offer a self-service cancel path. Call 1-800-934-6489 or use the Xfinity app’s chat and ask an agent to remove it.
You don’t have the right account role. A secondary Xfinity ID without Manager permissions won’t see the cancel controls. The Primary account holder either needs to process the cancellation or upgrade your role.5Xfinity Support. Manage User Roles and Permissions on Xfinity Accounts
