To cancel Paramount+ on a Firestick, open Settings from the home screen, go to Account and Profile Settings, then Subscriptions, select Paramount+, and turn off auto-renewal. That works if Amazon bills you, which is almost always the case when you signed up on the Firestick itself. If a different company handles your billing, you have to cancel with them instead, and deleting the app never counts as canceling.
Check Who Actually Bills You
Before you touch any settings, look at your bank or credit card statement for the most recent Paramount+ charge. If it reads “Amazon,” “AMZN,” or “Amazon Digital,” your subscription runs through Amazon. If it says “Paramount+” or “Paramount Global,” you signed up directly on their website. You may also see Apple, Google, or Roku if you first subscribed on another device.1Paramount+ Support. How Do I Pay for Paramount+?
This step isn’t optional. Canceling through the wrong platform does nothing at all. Amazon can’t cancel a subscription Paramount+ bills for, and Paramount+ can’t cancel one Amazon bills for.
Cancel From the Firestick
Grab the remote and go to Settings on the home screen. Select Account and Profile Settings, then find the Subscriptions or Appstore Subscriptions menu. You’ll see every active subscription tied to your Amazon account.
Highlight Paramount+, select it, and choose the option to turn off auto-renewal. Confirm when prompted. The Firestick syncs the change with Amazon’s servers, so this has the same effect as canceling on the website.
If Paramount+ doesn’t appear in this list, that’s your answer about billing: Amazon isn’t the one charging you, and you’ll need to cancel wherever you originally signed up.
Cancel From the Amazon Website
If you’d rather use a phone or computer, this is the same cancellation with a bigger screen.
- Log in to your Amazon account and open Your Memberships and Subscriptions.
- Find the Paramount+ tile in your active subscriptions.
- Click Manage Subscription.
- Under Advanced Controls, select Cancel Subscription.
- Click through the confirmation prompts. Amazon will show retention offers and reminders of what you’ll lose; keep going until you see a confirmation.
Once you confirm, Amazon stops future charges, and the subscription entry switches to showing an expiration date instead of a renewal date.2Amazon Customer Service. Manage Your Amazon Subscriptions
If Paramount+ or Another Platform Bills You Directly
Signed up at paramountplus.com? Log in there, click your profile icon, open Account settings, and use Cancel Subscription in the plan section. The site walks you through confirmation.
If you first subscribed through Apple, Google Play, or Roku, use that platform’s subscription management page. There is no way around this; each billing provider controls its own subscriptions.
Deleting the App Does Not Cancel Your Subscription
This is the mistake that costs people the most money. Removing the Paramount+ app from your Firestick does nothing to your billing. Uninstalling and canceling are two separate actions.3Amazon Forum. Does Uninstalling an App Cancel the Subscription? You can delete the app, forget the service exists, and still get charged every month. If you’ve already deleted it, cancel through Amazon’s website or reinstall it long enough to cancel on the device.
What Happens After You Cancel
Access doesn’t cut off the moment you cancel. You keep streaming until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Cancel on the 10th with a cycle that renews on the 28th, and you have 18 days of viewing left.4Paramount+ Help Center. What’s the Refund Policy for Paramount+?
Paramount+ does not issue prorated refunds for unused time. You keep access through the end of your current billing period, but you won’t get money back for the days you don’t use. In limited circumstances you may have a legal right to a refund under their Terms of Use, though as a practical matter, don’t count on one.4Paramount+ Help Center. Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
Watch for a confirmation email from Amazon or Paramount+. Keep it in case a charge shows up later. If you canceled through Amazon, go back to Your Memberships and Subscriptions and check that the Paramount+ entry now shows an expiration date instead of an upcoming renewal.2Amazon Customer Service. Manage Your Amazon Subscriptions
If a charge lands after you canceled, check the billing date against your cancellation date first. People often cancel a day or two after the cycle already renewed, which makes that final charge legitimate. If the charge really did post after a confirmed cancellation, contact Amazon customer service for Amazon-billed subscriptions, or Paramount+ support at support.paramountplus.com for direct ones.
