To cancel Paramount+ on YouTube, go to youtube.com/paid_memberships if you signed up through YouTube Primetime Channels, or open YouTube TV’s Settings → Membership if you added it as a YouTube TV add-on. These are two different products with two different cancellation paths, and picking the wrong one is the usual reason a cancellation seems not to work. Either way, you keep access until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for.
First, Figure Out Which Subscription You Have
Before changing any settings, confirm which Google account holds the subscription and which YouTube product you signed up through. If you use more than one Google account, you may be logged into the wrong one and not see the subscription at all. Check the email address on your receipt, or look at your charges at payments.google.com.1Google Pay. Manage Recurring Payments and Subscriptions
There are two ways Paramount+ can be billed through YouTube:
- A YouTube Primetime Channel subscription, where you added Paramount+ directly through youtube.com or the YouTube app. It’s managed from the Purchases and memberships page.2SHOWTIME. Is Paramount+ Available as a Channel on YouTube Primetime Channels?
- A YouTube TV add-on, where Paramount+ with SHOWTIME is tacked onto your YouTube TV base plan. It’s managed inside YouTube TV’s Settings.3Google Help. I Have Paramount Plus but How Do I Connect It to YouTube? – YouTube TV Community
Not sure which you have? Check your billing history. Primetime Channel charges appear under Digital purchases & rentals at youtube.com/paid_memberships. YouTube TV add-on charges show up inside the YouTube TV membership section.
Cancel a Primetime Channel Subscription
If you subscribed through Primetime Channels, do this on a computer or mobile browser:4YouTube Help. Cancel Your Primetime Channel Subscription
- Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships.
- Under Digital purchases & rentals, find Paramount+ and click Deactivate.
- Click Continue to confirm.
- Select a reason for canceling and click Next.
- Click Yes, cancel.
That last click is what actually processes the cancellation. Wait for the confirmation screen before closing the tab. If you leave partway through the “reason for canceling” step, the cancellation may not go through.
Cancel the YouTube TV Add-On
If Paramount+ is part of your YouTube TV membership, the cancellation happens inside YouTube TV instead:
- Open tv.youtube.com in a browser, or the YouTube TV app on your phone.
- Click your profile icon at the top right.
- Go to Settings, then Membership.
- Find the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME add-on and select the option to remove it.
- Confirm when prompted.
On Android, open the YouTube TV app, tap your profile photo, then go to Settings → Membership → Manage and cancel from there.5YouTube TV Help. Cancel or Pause Your YouTube TV Membership
Dropping the add-on doesn’t touch your YouTube TV base plan. Your regular channels and DVR stay intact.
What Happens After You Cancel
Access doesn’t cut off right away. You keep watching Paramount+ through the end of the current billing cycle, and no further charges hit your payment method after that.
Google sends a confirmation email shortly after cancellation to the address on your account. If you don’t see it, search your inbox for messages from “@youtube.com”.6YouTube Help. If a surprise charge appears later, that email is your proof the cancellation was submitted on time.
You can also verify by returning to your memberships page. The subscription should now show an expiration date rather than a next renewal date. If it still reads “Active” with an upcoming charge, the cancellation didn’t process and you’ll need to run through the steps again.
If You Were Already Charged
If a renewal charge went through before you canceled, you can request a refund for a Primetime Channel subscription from YouTube’s support page. The refund request form is reachable from your paid memberships page.7YouTube Help. Primetime Channel Refunds
Credit card refunds usually clear in three to five business days but can take up to ten depending on your card issuer. If you subscribed through the YouTube app on Android, the charge runs through Google Play, so review it at payments.google.com. For a charge you didn’t authorize at all, report it within 120 days of the transaction.8Google Play Help. Learn About Google Play Refund Policies Refund approval isn’t guaranteed, and Google doesn’t publish a firm deadline for standard requests, so submit sooner rather than later.
Pausing YouTube TV Instead
If you’re only taking a break, YouTube TV lets you pause the whole membership (which pauses the Paramount+ add-on along with it) for anywhere from four weeks to six months. You won’t be billed during the pause, and billing resumes automatically when the pause ends, setting a new billing date.9YouTube TV Help. Cancel or Pause Your YouTube TV Membership
You can’t extend a pause once it’s set, though you can resume early and pause again. Also worth knowing: if you cancel and then resubscribe later, any promotional pricing you had may not come back. Pausing is only available for YouTube TV; there’s no pause option for Primetime Channel subscriptions on regular YouTube.
