To cancel a Planta subscription, go to the platform that actually bills you — Apple, Google Play, or Planta’s website at getplanta.com — and cancel there. Deleting the app from your phone does not stop the charges. Planta’s own support page states that “all subscriptions and purchases are handled by either your Apple or Google Play account” and that canceling is a separate process from removing the app or your account.1Planta Help Center. How Can I Remove or Cancel My Account If you’ve already deleted the app and are still seeing charges, you can cancel without reinstalling anything.
First, Find Out Who Is Billing You
Canceling through the wrong platform accomplishes nothing. If Apple is billing you, canceling through Google Play does not stop the charge, and the reverse is equally true.
Look at your bank or credit card statement. Apple purchases usually show as “APPLE.COM/BILL.” Google Play charges appear as “GOOGLE*PLANTA” or similar. A direct website subscription will show Planta’s name or its payment processor. If the statement is unclear, search the email account you used at signup for the original purchase confirmation. The merchant of record on that receipt tells you which set of steps below applies to you.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple manages every subscription through your device settings, not inside the Planta app.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions to see every active and expired subscription on your Apple Account.
- Select Planta.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down. If you see a red expiration message instead, it’s already canceled.
You keep Premium access through the end of the current billing period. Apple does not prorate a refund for the remaining time; the next charge simply doesn’t happen. If your phone isn’t handy, sign in at account.apple.com and manage subscriptions from a browser.
Cancel on Android
Google routes cancellations through your Google Account rather than through the Play Store app screen.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
- Open Settings, tap Google, then your name, then Manage your Google Account.
- Go to Payments and subscriptions, then Manage subscriptions.
- Tap Planta.
- Tap Cancel. Google will ask why; pick any reason and confirm.
As with Apple, Premium stays active until the paid period ends, and the subscription details will show the exact date access expires. You can do the same thing at play.google.com by clicking your profile icon and selecting Payments and subscriptions.
Cancel a Planta Website Subscription
If you subscribed directly on Planta’s site, neither Apple nor Google can help. Planta’s help center confirms that web subscribers manage their plan on the website.4Planta Help Center. How Do I Turn Off Auto-Renewal or Cancel My Subscription
Log in at getplanta.com/login. From your account dashboard, find the subscription or billing section and either turn off auto-renewal or cancel outright. Save the confirmation email. If a charge appears afterward, that email is your evidence when you dispute it with your bank or card issuer.
Cancel a Free Trial Before It Converts
Planta’s Premium free trial runs seven days and requires your payment details upfront. If you don’t cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription automatically.5Planta Help Center. I Just Downloaded This App – Am I Going to Be Charged
You can cancel right after signing up and still use Premium for the rest of the seven days. Canceling stops the auto-conversion; it does not cut your access off early. If you only wanted the trial, the safest move is to cancel the same day you start it.
If You Were Already Charged, Ask for a Refund
A refund isn’t guaranteed, but it’s worth requesting quickly.
For Apple, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the Planta charge, and submit a refund request. Apple says to expect a response within 48 hours.6Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple Apple does not publish a firm deadline, and eligibility varies, but a request filed a day after an accidental renewal fares better than one filed months later.
For Google Play, use the refund tool on the Google Play support page, or open the Play Store app, go to your purchase history, and select the charge. Google’s policies vary by purchase type and timing.
For a website subscription, contact Planta support through the help center. Whether you get a refund depends on their policy and how quickly you reach out.
Stop the Charge Through Your Bank as a Last Resort
If you’ve canceled through the correct channel and charges keep appearing, federal banking rules let you stop a preauthorized recurring electronic payment by notifying your bank or credit union at least three business days before the next scheduled charge.7eCFR. 12 CFR 205.10 – Preauthorized Transfers Your bank may ask for written confirmation within 14 days of an oral stop-payment request. This tells the bank to block the charge; it does not tell Planta to stop trying, so keep your cancellation confirmation on hand.
