To cancel a Regus membership, submit written notice through your MyRegus online account or the Regus app before the deadline set by your contract’s term length. Miss that window and the agreement renews automatically for another full term of the same length, at the same monthly rate. The notice period is tied to how long your current term is, not what type of workspace you use.1IWG plc. Regus Global Terms and Conditions
How Much Notice You Need to Give
Regus uses three notice tiers based on the length of your current agreement:1IWG plc. Regus Global Terms and Conditions
- Month-to-month agreements need at least one full calendar month’s notice, running from the first day of a calendar month. Notify on March 15 and the earliest end date is April 30, not March 31.
- Three-month agreements need at least two months’ notice before the term ends.
- Any agreement longer than three months needs at least three months’ notice before the term ends.
Your term end date sits on the first page of your signed agreement and usually appears on monthly invoices. Count backward from that date to find your cancellation deadline. For a 12-month agreement ending September 30, notice has to be in by June 30. Submit on July 1 and the contract renews for another 12 months.
A common misread: members assume the notice window depends on their product. It doesn’t. A virtual office on a 12-month term needs three months’ notice, same as a private office on a 12-month term. Check your agreement’s actual term rather than guessing from what you use day to day.
How to Submit the Cancellation
The current terms are explicit: “Notice must be given through your online account or through the app.”1IWG plc. Regus Global Terms and Conditions A letter to your center manager or an email to the front desk may not qualify, however carefully you documented the delivery.
Log into MyRegus, find the section that manages your agreements, and open the specific agreement you’re ending. Work through every screen of the cancellation flow until you see a confirmation number or a status change on the agreement itself. Take a screenshot before you close the browser. That screenshot is your proof you acted inside the window.
If the portal is genuinely down, capture screenshots of the error messages and open a support ticket right away. A ticket number creates a record that you tried to cancel on time. Waiting to try again in a few days is how people lose the window entirely.
What to Have Ready
Before you start, gather your agreement ID (the multi-digit number on the signed document and on invoices), your center location name, and the primary email address on the account. Confirm the end date against the actual signed agreement rather than memory.
What You’ll Owe on the Way Out
Even a clean, on-time cancellation comes with final charges. The one that surprises members most is the office restoration fee. A Regus office agreement filed with the SEC sets this fee at $4.00 per square foot for each occupied office, charged when you leave, with additional charges reserved for repairs beyond normal wear and tear.2U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Office Agreement Between Regus Management Group, LLC And Asset Entities, LLC A typical 100 to 150 square foot office lands somewhere around $400 to $600 before damage charges.
Return every physical item the center issued you, including access fobs, keys, and ID badges, on or before your last day. Unreturned items usually generate extra charges.
Getting Your Retainer Back
The Regus terms describe the retainer as a refundable payment held as security for your obligations. For members who aren’t on automatic payments, it equals one month’s product fee.1IWG plc. Regus Global Terms and Conditions After the agreement ends and your account is fully settled, request the return through your online account or the app. Regus then has 30 days to process the refund, less any outstanding fees.
Members frequently report that refunds run past 30 days or need a follow-up nudge. Save the date of your request and follow up in writing if the window closes without payment.
If You Miss the Deadline
Missing the notice window is the most expensive mistake members make with Regus. Once the deadline passes, the contract renews and you’re liable for the full new term. There’s no grace period in the agreement.
Your options narrow considerably at that point. Negotiating directly with your center manager or the account management team sometimes produces a shortened or adjusted contract, but Regus isn’t obligated to accommodate you. Several states have auto-renewal disclosure laws that require clear notice of renewal terms at signing, and non-compliance can sometimes make a renewal unenforceable. Whether any of that applies to your agreement depends on your state, when you signed, and the type of contract.
Going forward, set a calendar reminder at least four months before the end date. That buffers you even against the longest notice tier. Regus isn’t going to remind you.
Situations That Look Like Cancellation but Aren’t
A few scenarios come up often enough to flag, because none of them substitute for a properly submitted notice.
Transferring to a Different Location
If the location is the problem rather than the membership itself, Regus allows transfers within the IWG network, subject to availability. Your financial commitment has to stay the same or increase, the transfer can’t be used to extend or renew the existing agreement, and a new agreement may be required.1IWG plc. Regus Global Terms and Conditions Availability sits at Regus’s sole discretion, so treat it as pending until confirmed in writing. A transfer also doesn’t reset your cancellation timeline; if you had four months left, the transferred agreement runs on the same schedule.
Ending Early
Regus agreements don’t include a standard buyout letting you pay a flat fee to walk away. If Regus terminates the agreement because you breached it, including nonpayment, insolvency, or bankruptcy, you owe a lump sum covering all fees that would have been due through the end of the term, payable within 30 days of the termination notice.1IWG plc. Regus Global Terms and Conditions The contract calls this a “reasonable estimate of the actual damages” from early termination.
Dissolving your business doesn’t release you either. The terms contain no provision excusing performance because the member’s company has closed. If you’re stuck, the practical path is to contact Regus and negotiate a reduced payout in exchange for release. Nothing guarantees agreement, but a partial recovery can be preferable to Regus over pursuing a shutting-down entity.
If a Billing Dispute Follows
Regus’s terms route U.S. disputes to binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association, held in Dallas, Texas, and prohibit class arbitration.3Regus. Terms and Conditions of Service The arbitrator’s decision is final.
For members outside Texas, travel to Dallas often exceeds the amount in dispute, which makes arbitration impractical for smaller charges. A Better Business Bureau complaint or a credit card chargeback can move faster and cost less. If Regus charged your card after a valid, timely cancellation and you have the confirmation to prove it, a chargeback is a legitimate tool. Keep the cancellation screenshot, any support ticket numbers, and a copy of the signed agreement together in one place in case you need them.
