To cancel a Runna subscription, you have to go through whichever platform originally took your payment: Apple if you signed up on an iPhone or iPad, Google Play if you signed up on Android, or Paddle if you subscribed through Runna’s website. Deleting the app from your phone does nothing to your billing, and canceling through the wrong platform won’t stop the charges either.
Check Who’s Actually Billing You
Before you tap anything, find out where the charge is coming from. Search your email for your original Runna receipt, or look at your bank or card statement for the merchant name. A line reading “Apple.com/bill” means the App Store. “Google Play” means Android. If you see “Paddle” or a direct “Runna” charge, you signed up on the web and Paddle is handling the billing.
Getting this right is the whole game. Runna’s own support confirms that cancellations have to go through the original platform, so a web subscriber poking around in iPhone Settings will find nothing to cancel and keep getting charged.
Cancel Through Apple on iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Runna.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. Scroll down if you don’t see it right away. A red expiration message in place of the button means it’s already canceled.
You keep premium access through the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
One quirk worth knowing: if you used Apple’s Hide My Email relay when signing up, Runna’s website won’t recognize your account if you try to manage things there later. The Settings route above sidesteps that entirely.
Cancel Through Google Play on Android
Uninstalling the Runna app does not cancel the subscription. Go through Google Play:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Runna.
- Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.
You keep premium access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Cancel a Web Subscription Through Paddle
This is the one people miss. If you signed up on Runna’s website, your subscription is invisible to Apple and Google because neither one processed the payment. Paddle did.
- Open a browser and go to Paddle’s customer portal, which is linked from Runna’s support page.
- Log in with the email address you used for your Runna account.
- Find your Runna subscription and cancel it.
If you can’t track down your original Paddle receipt, use Paddle’s order lookup tool by entering your email on their buyer support page. If that still doesn’t surface the subscription, email help@paddle.com with your order details and ask them to stop the automatic charges.3Runna Support. Managing Your Runna Subscription
Canceling During the Free Trial
Runna’s free trial runs seven days. To avoid the first charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial renews.4Runna Support. Cancelling Your Runna Premium Subscription The same 24-hour cutoff applies to monthly renewals. If you’re undecided, set a calendar reminder a couple of days out, because once the charge posts your refund window is narrow.
If You’ve Already Been Charged
Runna’s refund window is 48 to 72 hours from the subscription date, on both monthly and annual plans. Approval is up to whichever platform processed the payment, not Runna, so Apple, Google, or Paddle each decide on their own.5Runna Support. Requesting a Refund
There are no pro-rated refunds for canceling partway through a billing period and no special carve-outs for injury or medical reasons. Cancel three days into an annual plan and you’ll keep access for the rest of the year, but you won’t get a cent back.
For Apple refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, select Request a refund, pick your reason, and choose the Runna subscription.6Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple Google Play refunds are handled through Google’s refund request page on their support site. Paddle refund requests go through the same customer portal you’d use to cancel.
If You Just Need a Break, Not a Cancellation
Runna doesn’t let you pause billing, but it does offer Holiday Mode for trips of 3 to 21 days. Your subscription keeps running, and the app rearranges workouts, mileage, and deload weeks around the gap. For breaks longer than 21 days, Runna recommends starting a fresh plan when you’re back.7Runna Support. What Is Holiday Mode? There’s also a “Not Feeling 100%” feature that drops intensity for illness or minor injuries without requiring you to cancel.8Runna Support. Need to Pause Your Plan
What Happens After You Cancel
Canceling stops future charges but doesn’t end your access right away. You keep premium features through the rest of the billing period you’ve already paid for, and your training data, run history, and plan progress stay in the app even after premium expires.4Runna Support. Cancelling Your Runna Premium Subscription
Deleting your account is a separate action from canceling. If you want your data wiped, cancel the subscription first, then open the Runna app, tap your profile picture in the top-left, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. Everything is permanently removed and can’t be recovered. Deleting the account on its own does not stop billing, which is why the order matters.9Runna Support. Deleting Your Runna Account
