To cancel a Settlemate subscription, open your device’s subscription settings in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, select Settlemate, and turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before your next billing date. Settlemate is billed through Apple or Google, so there is no cancel button inside the app itself.1Settlemate. Settlemate Terms of Service The whole process takes about two minutes once you’re in the right menu.
Both tiers renew automatically unless you cancel: $11.99 per month or $34.99 per year.2Google Play. Settlemate – Apps on Google Play
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store:
- Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
- Find Settlemate in the list of active subscriptions and tap it.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple Account you used when you first subscribed. If Settlemate doesn’t appear in your subscription list, you’re probably signed in under a different Apple ID.
On a Mac
Open the App Store app, click your name in the bottom-left corner, then click Account Settings. In the Manage section, click Manage next to Subscriptions, select Settlemate, and click Cancel Subscription.3Apple Support. Cancel, Change, or Share Subscriptions in the App Store on Mac

You keep access to Settlemate for the rest of the period you already paid for. The subscription simply won’t renew when that period ends.4Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Deleting the App Does Not Cancel the Subscription
This is the mistake that catches people over and over. Uninstalling Settlemate from your phone does nothing to stop the recurring charges. Apple and Google treat the app and the subscription as separate things, and Settlemate’s own terms warn about this for both platforms.1Settlemate. Settlemate Terms of Service Google Play’s support pages repeat the same warning.4Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
If you deleted the app weeks ago and assumed that was the end of it, check your Apple or Google subscription settings now. The charges may still be running.
Timing: Cancel at Least 24 Hours Before Renewal
Your cancellation has to go through at least 24 hours before the next renewal date. Cancel inside that 24-hour window and the next charge may already be locked in, which means another full cycle before billing actually stops.2Google Play. Settlemate – Apps on Google Play
To find your renewal date, open the Settlemate entry in your Apple or Google subscription settings and look for the expiration or renewal date. If you know you’re done with the service, cancel now. You won’t lose access immediately: both Apple and Google let you use the subscription through the end of the paid period after you turn off auto-renewal.
Refunds for Charges Already Made
Settlemate’s general policy is that fees are non-refundable except as stated in its refund policy or required by law. The company asks you to email support@settlemate.io or use the in-app help center for any refund request, and says it responds within 24 hours.5Settlemate. Contact Settlemate
Because billing runs through Apple or Google, those platforms hold the final refund authority for app store purchases. If Settlemate agrees a refund is warranted but can’t process it directly, it will point you to Apple’s or Google’s refund process. You can also go straight to Apple or Google and request the refund through their standard app store refund procedures.
The Money-Back and Performance Guarantee
Settlemate advertises a separate money-back and performance guarantee, but the bar is high. You must have either completed a full 12-month annual subscription term or paid at least 12 monthly charges at the standard price within a 36-month window, and your account has to have stayed in good standing the whole time, with no prior chargebacks, payment reversals, or account suspensions.6Settlemate. Settlemate Refund Policy It won’t help with a quick cancellation after a month or two.
If Charges Continue After You Cancel
First, verify the cancellation actually went through. Open your Apple or Google subscription settings and confirm the Settlemate entry shows as canceled or expired. Sometimes a cancellation doesn’t fully process, and sometimes people are subscribed on a different Apple or Google account than the one they’re checking.
If the subscription genuinely shows canceled and the charges keep appearing, your next step depends on how you paid.
Credit Card Charges
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you can dispute unauthorized charges by writing to your card issuer within 60 days of the statement that first showed the error. Send your account number, a description of the charge, and a copy of any cancellation confirmation. The issuer must acknowledge your dispute within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days.
Debit Card or Bank Account Charges
For debit card or direct bank charges, Regulation E under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act applies. Report the unauthorized transfer within 60 days of receiving the statement that shows it. Missing that 60-day window can leave you on the hook for unauthorized transfers that happen afterward.7Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
