To cancel a Skin Laundry membership, submit written notice at least seven business days before your next billing date, and know that cancellation isn’t allowed at all during the first four months after you signed up.1Skin Laundry. Laundry Club Membership Terms and Conditions Miss that seven-day window and you’ll be charged for one more month, and that charge is non-refundable.
You Can’t Cancel in the First Four Months
Every new Laundry Club membership carries a four-month minimum commitment starting from your sign-up date. During that period you cannot cancel or downgrade, and Skin Laundry will not issue refunds or credits for any monthly fees charged.1Skin Laundry. Laundry Club Membership Terms and Conditions The terms list no exceptions.
After the four months are up, the membership rolls over month to month on your billing anniversary and keeps charging your card until you go through the formal cancellation steps.1Skin Laundry. Laundry Club Membership Terms and Conditions Monthly fees are non-refundable whether or not you used your treatments.
The Three Ways to Cancel
Once your minimum commitment has ended, Skin Laundry’s terms and conditions list three cancellation methods:1Skin Laundry. Laundry Club Membership Terms and Conditions
- Online, using any cancellation form, link, button, or email address on your Customer Profile or the Skin Laundry website.
- By phone to customer service at 1-844-651-1035.
- In person at your Skin Laundry clinic.
Watch out for one inconsistency. The formal terms say seven business days’ notice through any of the three methods. The company’s FAQ page says you “must visit your Skin Laundry Clinic at least seven (7) calendar days in advance of your billing date and fill out the Laundry Club Membership Cancellation Form.”2Skin Laundry. FAQs The FAQ is narrower and uses calendar days; the binding contract language uses business days and allows all three channels. If you are close to your billing date, count business days to be safe.
Many members have also been told they need to complete a specific Membership Cancellation Form regardless of how they initiated the request. If you cancel by phone or online, ask the representative to confirm in writing that your cancellation has been submitted and when it takes effect.
Timing the Seven-Day Notice
The notice window is the single biggest reason cancellation attempts fail. Give notice fewer than seven business days before your next billing date and the cancellation doesn’t take effect until the following billing cycle, so you get charged for one more month, and that charge is non-refundable.1Skin Laundry. Find your billing date on your Customer Profile or in a past billing confirmation email. Count backward at least seven business days from that date; that’s your deadline. If your billing date is a Monday, submit your request no later than the Monday of the previous week. Weekends and holidays don’t count as business days, so leave extra buffer during holiday weeks.
Freezing or Downgrading Instead
If you aren’t ready to end the membership entirely, two other options exist. You can freeze the membership with at least seven calendar days’ written notice before your billing date; the length of the freeze and any reduced fee are set out in your individual membership contract.3Skin Laundry. Exclusive Skincare Memberships A freeze preserves your tier and pricing, which matters if you plan to come back.
You can also downgrade to a cheaper tier once your four-month minimum ends. Downgrading follows the same seven-day notice rule as cancellation.
Get Confirmation and Watch Your Statements
After you submit your cancellation, get it in writing. An email confirmation, a screenshot of a confirmation screen, or a signed copy of the in-clinic cancellation form all work. This is your proof that you met the notice deadline if charges keep coming.
Check your bank or credit card statements for at least two billing cycles after your cancellation date. One final charge is normal if your notice fell inside the seven-business-day window. Charges beyond that are not authorized. Contact customer service at 1-844-651-1035 first and reference your confirmation. If the company doesn’t resolve it, you can file a billing dispute with your card issuer; most issuers allow disputes on unauthorized recurring charges within 60 days of the statement date.
If Charges Keep Coming
State automatic renewal laws may also work in your favor. California and New York, among others, require that if you signed up online, the company must let you cancel online. If Skin Laundry enrolled you through its website but is now telling you that you have to come into a clinic to cancel, that conflict may give you leverage in a billing dispute depending on your state’s consumer protection laws.
The Federal Trade Commission finalized a “click-to-cancel” rule in October 2024 requiring subscription sellers to make cancellation as easy as sign-up and to stop charges immediately once a consumer cancels.4Federal Trade Commission. Federal Trade Commission Announces Final Click-to-Cancel Rule Making It Easier for Consumers to End Recurring Subscriptions and Memberships The compliance deadline has been deferred, so enforcement timelines are still in flux as of mid-2025.
If Skin Laundry keeps charging after you’ve followed the cancellation steps, filing a complaint with the FTC at ftc.gov/complaint or with your state attorney general’s consumer protection division creates a paper trail that agencies use when deciding whether to investigate a company’s practices.
