How to Cancel Snapchat Plus: iPhone, Android, Web, and Refunds

To cancel Snapchat Plus, go to whichever service bills you for it: the App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android, the Snapchat website, or the carrier or partner that bundled it. Snapchat itself can’t switch off a subscription that runs through Apple or Google, so canceling in the wrong place leaves the charges running.

Check Where You’re Billed

Look at a recent bank or credit card statement before changing any settings. A line reading “Apple Services” or “apple.com/bill” means the App Store handles your subscription. “Google Play” or “GOOGLE*Snap” points to Google. If the charge comes straight from Snap, you subscribed on the web. If it comes from a carrier, that’s where you’ll need to go.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

App Store subscriptions are canceled in your device settings, not inside the Snapchat app.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the top (your Apple ID).
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap Snapchat+ in the list.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Your Snapchat+ features stay active through the end of the current billing period, so there’s no cost to canceling early in the cycle.

Cancel on Android

Android subscriptions are managed through Google Play. Uninstalling the Snapchat app does not stop the billing. You’ll keep being charged until you cancel explicitly.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Snapchat+.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription.
  5. Follow the prompts to confirm.

As on iOS, you keep access through the period you’ve already paid for.

Pausing Instead of Canceling

Google Play offers a pause option on some subscriptions, freezing billing for one week up to three months. If it’s available for Snapchat+, a “Pause payments” button appears on the same screen as the cancel option. The pause starts at the end of your current billing period and the subscription resumes automatically when the pause window ends.

Cancel on the Snapchat Website

If you subscribed directly through a browser, sign in at accounts.snapchat.com with your Snapchat credentials, open your subscription settings, and choose the cancel option. Snapchat’s support page notes that tapping “Manage” inside the app will redirect you to the web subscription page if that’s where you originally signed up.

Cancel Through a Carrier or Partner

Some subscriptions come bundled through a partner like Verizon +play or MySTC. In that case Apple, Google, and Snapchat can’t cancel it for you. Contact the partner that set up the bundle and cancel through them.

Canceling a Free Trial on iOS

If you’re on an App Store free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Wait until the last day and Apple will renew the subscription and charge you for the first paid period. The steps are the same as a regular cancellation: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Snapchat+, Cancel.

Getting a Refund

Snapchat doesn’t process refunds. The request goes to whoever handles your billing.

  • App Store: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and follow the prompts.
  • Google Play: within 48 hours of the charge, request the refund through Google Play. After 48 hours, Google directs you back to the app developer.
  • Web subscriptions: use the Snapchat support bot in the help center.
  • Carriers and partners: contact the partner directly.

If a refund is approved, Snapchat+ access ends immediately. You don’t keep the features through the end of the billing period the way you would with a standard cancellation.

What Happens After You Cancel

Your Snapchat+ perks stay on until the paid period runs out. After that date the account reverts to the standard free version. Your snaps, chats, and friends list aren’t affected, and you can resubscribe later if you want to.
