To cancel STARZ on Roku, first check who actually bills you, because that determines where the cancellation happens. If the charge on your statement reads “Roku,” “Roku for Starz,” or “The Roku Channel,” you can cancel from your Roku device or at my.roku.com. If it reads “Starz,” or if it’s billed by Apple, Google, or Amazon, you have to cancel through that provider instead.
Check Who Bills You Before You Start
Pull up a recent bank or credit card statement and look at how the STARZ charge is worded. Charges labeled “Roku,” “Roku for Starz,” or “The Roku Channel” mean Roku is the biller.1Official Roku Support. If There’s a Charge You Don’t Recognize on Your Roku Account A charge that just says “Starz” means you subscribed through STARZ directly.
If the statement isn’t clear, sign in at my.roku.com and open your purchase history. Any STARZ subscription billed through Roku will show up there; if it isn’t listed, Roku isn’t charging you.2Roku. View Your Roku Purchase History and Charges to Your Account The charge might instead trace back to Apple, Google Play, or Amazon if that’s where you originally signed up. Your signup confirmation email is a quick tiebreaker.
Cancel on Your Roku Device
This works only when Roku bills you. With your Roku remote:
- Press the Home button.
- Navigate to the STARZ app on the home screen. Don’t open it.
- Press the Star (*) button to open the options menu.
- Select “Manage subscription.” You’ll see your renewal date. If this option isn’t there, your subscription isn’t billed through Roku.
- Select “Turn off auto-renew.” You’ll be asked whether to remove the app now or keep it until the current period ends.
Access continues through the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and then it stops.3Roku Support. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku
Cancel on the Roku Website
If you’d rather not use the remote, go to my.roku.com/subscriptions and sign in with your Roku credentials. Under “Active subscriptions,” find STARZ, select “Manage subscription,” and choose “Turn off auto-renew.”3Roku Support. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku
The website is often the easier route when “Manage subscription” isn’t showing on the device, because it lists everything Roku actually bills you for in one place. After confirming, check that the subscription status shows an expiration date, and watch for the confirmation email.
Cancel When STARZ Bills You Directly
If you signed up at starz.com or inside the STARZ app itself, Roku isn’t involved in billing. You won’t see “Manage subscription” on your Roku, and the subscription won’t appear at my.roku.com/subscriptions.
On a computer, sign in at starz.com, click the user icon at the top right, choose “Settings,” and look under “Billing Plan & Information” for “Cancel Subscription.” Follow the prompts and click “Submit.” On a phone, open the STARZ app, tap “More” at the bottom right, then “Settings,” then “Account Management,” and select “Cancel Subscription” under “My Subscription.” The app hands you off to a browser to finish.4STARZ Help Center. Cancel Through Apple, Google, or Amazon
You can watch STARZ on your Roku while the billing runs through a completely different platform. If you originally subscribed through the App Store, Google Play, or as a Prime Video add-on, the cancellation has to happen there.
Apple
On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap “Subscriptions,” find STARZ, and tap “Cancel Subscription.” On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, go to “Account Settings,” scroll to “Subscriptions,” click “Manage,” and cancel from there. If there’s no cancel button and you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled.5Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

What to Expect After You Cancel
You keep access to STARZ through the end of the billing period you already paid for. If your payment covers you through the 15th, the app keeps working until the 15th.
Don’t expect a partial refund for unused days. Roku’s policy is that subscriptions managed through Roku are prepaid, final, and non-refundable, with no pro-rated credit for canceling mid-cycle.8Roku Support. Roku Content and Subscription Refund Policy STARZ’s direct billing works the same way. Because canceling doesn’t cut your access short, the cleanest move is to cancel as soon as you decide you’re done.
The STARZ app stays on your Roku home screen unless you remove it. During cancellation on the device, Roku asks whether you want to remove it right away or leave it until access expires. Removing the app doesn’t affect the cancellation or restart the subscription.
When “Manage Subscription” Doesn’t Appear
The most common snag: you press the Star button on the STARZ app and there’s no “Manage subscription” option. That almost always means Roku isn’t the biller. Confirm by signing in at my.roku.com/subscriptions. If STARZ isn’t in the list there, check your signup confirmation email or your bank statement to find out which provider is charging you, then cancel through that provider using the steps above.3Roku Support.
