How to Cancel Stretch Zone Membership: Notice, Freeze, Exceptions

To cancel a Stretch Zone membership, ask your home studio for the cancellation link, submit the electronic cancellation form it opens, and your membership will end 30 days from the date the form is received.1Stretch Zone. Stretch Zone Membership There is no phone-in or in-person option. A payment that lands inside that 30-day window still processes, and you can still use the sessions it buys you.

The Steps to Cancel

Month-to-month memberships renew automatically, so ignoring the account or telling the front desk you’re done won’t stop the billing.2Stretch Zone. Stretch Zone Terms of Use – Section: Terms and Conditions of Stretch Zone Month-to-Month Program The process runs through three steps:

That last piece is where people get stuck. If you’re behind on a payment and try to cancel, the request stays open, and you remain responsible for monthly charges until the cancellation actually completes. Waiting only adds to what you owe.

What Happens During the 30-Day Notice Period

After the form goes through, the account is scheduled to close 30 days later. Any regularly scheduled charge that falls inside that window will still hit your card, and the sessions attached to it are yours to use.2Stretch Zone. Unused Sessions Expire in 90 Days

Once cancellation takes effect, any session credits you haven’t used stay with you, but only for a limited time. Unused sessions are forfeited if you don’t redeem them within 90 days of the cancellation date.1Stretch Zone. Membership fees are non-refundable, so cash back for unused sessions isn’t on the table.2Stretch Zone. Stretch Zone Terms of Use – Section: Terms and Conditions of Stretch Zone Month-to-Month Program The 90-day window is your only shot at getting value out of what you’ve already paid for.

Consider Freezing Instead

If the reason you want to cancel is temporary, such as travel, a minor injury, or a tight month, a freeze can keep your sessions alive. Stretch Zone allows up to two freezes per year, with a minimum freeze of one month. A $10 monthly freeze fee applies, and a one-time $10 setup fee may also be charged.1Stretch Zone. Military, Medical, and Relocation Exceptions

Active-duty service members have stronger rights than the standard terms provide. Under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, a service member who receives orders to relocate for 90 days or more to a location that doesn’t support the contract can terminate a gym membership or fitness program with no early termination charge.4Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 50 USC 3956 Termination of Certain Consumer Contracts As of 2023, that protection also extends to dependents relocating with the service member.5Air Force Materiel Command. Servicemember Civil Relief Act Amended To use it, deliver a written or electronic termination notice with a copy of your orders. The provider must refund any prepaid fees covering the period after termination within 60 days, keeping only a pro-rated amount for the billing cycle when termination occurs.

State consumer protection laws can also override Stretch Zone’s standard terms if you move far from the studio or develop a medical condition that keeps you from using the service. A move of 25 or more miles and a doctor’s certification of disability are common triggers, though thresholds and documentation rules differ by state. Some states cap hardship cancellation fees, typically in the $50 to $100 range, and several bar any fee at all when a documented medical condition is the reason. If either situation applies to you, check your state’s health club or fitness contract statute before agreeing to whatever fee the studio quotes.

If the Studio Drags Its Feet

Every Stretch Zone location is independently owned and operated, which creates real variation in how cancellation requests are handled.6Stretch Zone. Screenshot the confirmation page after submitting the form, save every email, and note the dates of your requests. If a studio won’t send you the cancellation link, or if charges continue past the 30-day period, escalate to Stretch Zone’s corporate office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. If that fails, your credit card issuer can dispute charges made after a properly submitted cancellation.
