To cancel Tencent Video or its international version WeTV, turn off auto-renewal through whichever channel originally processed your payment: the app itself, Apple, Google Play, PayPal, WeChat Pay, or Alipay. Deleting the app does nothing. Your VIP access stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
Find Out Who Is Actually Billing You
Most of the time wasted on this problem comes from canceling in the wrong place. The subscription agreement lives with the payment provider you used at signup, not with Tencent itself.
If you downloaded WeTV from the App Store and confirmed payment with Face ID or your Apple ID, Apple is billing you. If you installed it from Google Play and paid through your Google account, Google is billing you. If you signed up on the WeTV website and used PayPal, WeChat Pay, or Alipay, those services are billing you directly.
The fastest way to confirm is to search your email for the original subscription receipt — it names the biller. You can also open the app, tap your profile icon, and check your VIP membership details, which often show the renewal date and payment method.
One boundary worth knowing: WeTV is Tencent’s international streaming brand, and “Tencent Video” usually refers to the separate mainland Chinese service. A subscription bought on one does not carry over to the other, and each has its own cancellation path.
Deleting the App Will Not Stop the Charges
Uninstalling WeTV or Tencent Video from your phone does not cancel anything. You can delete the app, factory-reset the device, and switch phones, and Apple, Google, or your linked payment service will still charge you on schedule. The only way out is to actively cancel through the biller.
Cancel Inside the WeTV or Tencent Video App
This path works only if you subscribed directly inside the app or on the website using Tencent’s own payment flow, not through Apple or Google.
Open the app and tap your profile icon in the bottom-right corner. Tap your VIP or membership status to open the membership management area, then look for the option to manage or turn off auto-renewal. Confirm when prompted. The website follows the same logic. Log in at the WeTV site, click your profile icon, go to your membership or VIP settings, and use the auto-renewal toggle or cancellation button.
Cancel Through Apple, Google Play, or PayPal
If a third-party platform processes your payment, canceling inside the WeTV app alone may not stop future charges. Go directly to the biller.
Apple (iPhone and iPad)
Open Settings, tap your name at the top, and tap Subscriptions. Find WeTV or Tencent Video in the list, tap it, and tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to see the button. Google Play (Android)
Open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, then go to Payments & subscriptions and select Subscriptions. Find the WeTV or Tencent Video entry, tap it, and tap Cancel subscription. PayPal
Log in to PayPal and go to Settings, then Payments, then Automatic Payments (labeled “Subscriptions and saved businesses” in some versions). Find the WeTV or Tencent Video entry and cancel the automatic payment. Cancel Through WeChat Pay or Alipay
For WeChat Pay, open WeChat, tap the “Me” tab, select Wallet, and open the auto-debit or password-free payment settings. Find the Tencent Video or WeTV entry in your authorized merchants and disable the deduction service.5Uber. Alipay works the same way. Open Alipay, go to account settings, find automatic payments or authorized deductions, locate the Tencent Video or WeTV merchant, and revoke the authorization. Both services notify the merchant immediately that future charges are blocked.
Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
Tapping the button is not proof. Verify in a few ways:
- Check your inbox for a confirmation email. Search for the service name plus “cancel” or “subscription.”
- Log back into your account. Your membership status should show an expiration date rather than a renewal date. If auto-renewal still shows as active, the cancellation did not register.
- Check again after 24 hours. Some systems process on a delay.
- Watch your bank or card statement across the next one to two billing dates. That is the definitive test.

Refunds If You’ve Already Been Charged
WeTV’s terms state that payments are generally non-refundable, though WeTV may offer refunds, discounts, or credits at its discretion. After canceling, you keep VIP access through the end of the period you already paid for.6WeTV. WeTV Terms of Service
Your refund odds are better if Apple or Google billed you, because each runs its own refund process independent of WeTV. For Apple, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, and select the charge. Apple usually responds within 24 to 48 hours.7Apple Support. What To Do If the Service Makes Cancellation Hard
The FTC’s click-to-cancel rule requires businesses to make canceling at least as easy as signing up. If you subscribed online, the company must let you cancel online. If you hit a dead end, the practical move is to cancel through your payment provider (Apple, Google, PayPal, your bank) rather than fighting with the streaming service. You can also open WeTV’s help center by tapping your profile icon and selecting “Help & Feedback,” or by using the help section on the WeTV website. Tencent Video does not currently offer a dedicated phone support line for international users, so in-app chat and the web contact form are the fastest routes to a human if self-service fails.
