To cancel Tinder Gold, go to the same platform that originally processed your payment: if you signed up on an iPhone, cancel in your Apple subscription settings; if you signed up on Android, cancel in Google Play; and if you paid by card or PayPal on the website, cancel at tinder.com. Picking the wrong one is the most common reason people keep seeing charges after they thought they had canceled.
First, Find Out Where You Subscribed
Pull up your bank or credit card statement and look at the merchant name on the Tinder charge. That tells you which system is actually billing you.
- APPLE.COM/BILL means you subscribed through the App Store. Cancel in iPhone Settings.
- GOOGLE *TINDER means you subscribed through Google Play. Cancel in the Play Store.
- TINDER.COM or MATCH*TINDER means you paid Tinder directly. Cancel on the website.
Your original confirmation email works too. Order numbers starting with MK are Apple, GPA is Google Play, and TNDR is Tinder’s own billing.1Tinder. Cancel Your Subscription This matters because the cancel button only exists inside the system that took your money.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
If you subscribed on an Apple device, you cancel through Apple’s settings, not inside the Tinder app.2Apple. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the Tinder entry.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
One thing throws people off: if you see a red expiration message instead of a cancel button, the subscription is already canceled. The red text is just confirming the date it will end.
Cancel on Android
Android subscriptions live in Google Play, not in the Tinder app.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Tinder.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Google states plainly that uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. If you’ve switched phones or deleted the Play Store app, you can also manage subscriptions in a browser at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.3Google Play Help. Cancel on the Tinder Website
If you paid by credit card or PayPal on tinder.com (your order number starts with TNDR), you cancel on the site:1Tinder. Cancel Your Subscription
- Go to tinder.com and log in.
- Click the profile icon.
- Select Manage Payment Account.
- Find your subscription and click Cancel Subscription.
Deleting the App or Your Account Does Not Cancel Billing
This is where most people lose money. Uninstalling Tinder from your phone stops nothing. Deleting your Tinder account entirely stops nothing either. Tinder’s help page says it directly: “Deleting your account won’t cancel an active subscription.”4Tinder. Delete Your Tinder Account The subscription lives with Apple, Google, or Tinder’s own billing system, and that processor keeps charging your card until you cancel through the right channel.
Subscriptions also don’t follow you between platforms. If you bought on iPhone and later switched to Android, the subscription is still with Apple and has to be canceled there.1Tinder. Cancel Your Subscription
What Happens After You Cancel
You keep your Gold features for the rest of the billing period you already paid for. Cancel mid-month and you still have access for the rest of that month. Your account should now show an expiration date instead of a renewal date — that’s the confirmation the cancellation went through.
After the date your next charge would have hit, check your statement. No new Tinder line item means you’re done. If a charge did go through, the cancellation was almost certainly submitted to the wrong platform. Go back to step one, re-check the merchant name on your statement, and run the right process.
Getting a Refund for a Charge You Already Paid
Canceling stops future charges. It doesn’t automatically refund past ones. Where you request a refund depends on who processed the payment.
Through Tinder
If you paid by card or PayPal on tinder.com, Tinder handles refund requests for purchases made within the last 14 days. Most in-app purchases are nonrefundable, but exceptions exist. Contact Tinder from the email address on your account and include the order number (starting with TNDR or COSU).5Tinder Help Center. Refund Requests
Through Apple
Tinder can’t refund App Store purchases. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, and select the Tinder charge from your purchase history. Apple usually responds within 48 hours.6Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
Through Google Play
For Google Play purchases, submit a refund request through Google. For unauthorized charges, Google allows 120 days from the transaction date to report them.7Google Play Help. Learn About Google Play Refund Policies For other situations, Google notes that contacting the developer directly can be faster, since developers can process refunds under their own policies.
If There’s No Cancel Button
If you open your settings and there’s no cancel option or auto-renew toggle, you’re almost always in the wrong place. The cancel option only appears where the original payment was processed, so go back to your bank statement, identify the merchant name, and use the process for that platform.1Tinder. If you’ve confirmed you’re on the right platform and the option still isn’t there, contact Tinder support through policies.tinder.com/contact with your order number and the platform you originally used.
