To cancel Whoop auto-renewal, log into your account at app.whoop.com, open the Membership section, scroll to the bottom, and click Cancel Your Membership before your next renewal date. Whoop handles cancellations through the web app, not the mobile app, and your membership type controls whether the cancellation takes effect immediately or at the end of a term you’ve already paid for.1WHOOP. Check Your Plan Before You Cancel
Sign in first and look at what you’re on. Whoop offers three tiers — WHOOP One, WHOOP Peak, and WHOOP Life — at annual pricing of $199, $239, and $359. Monthly billing at $25, $30, or $40 only becomes available after you finish your initial 12-month commitment.1WHOOP. Membership Pricing
Cancel mid-term on an annual plan and your membership stays active through the end of the period you already paid for. Whoop does not issue prorated refunds for the unused portion.2WHOOP. WHOOP Terms of Use On a monthly plan still inside a 12-month commitment, you’ll either pay off the remaining balance or schedule the cancellation for the end of the commitment. Monthly members past their commitment can cancel any time before the next billing date.
The Steps in the Web App
- Go to app.whoop.com and sign in with your registered email.
- Open the Membership section and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click Cancel Your Membership.
- Work through the prompts. Whoop will ask why you’re leaving and may offer discounts or a pause. Skip past these for a full cancellation.
- Select the final cancellation button. A confirmation screen should show your membership end date.
Save the confirmation email that arrives afterward. If a billing dispute comes up later, that email is your proof the cancellation went through. Your account status should update to reflect an expiration date, and no further charges will process after that date.1WHOOP. Membership Pricing
Canceling a Free Trial Works Differently
Trials involve hardware, so the flow changes. If you signed up for a free trial and received a Whoop device, canceling during the trial period triggers a 14-day window to return the device and charger. Miss the 14 days and Whoop charges a $110 restocking fee to the payment method on file.2WHOOP. WHOOP Terms of Use
To cancel a trial, open the Whoop mobile app, go to the More tab, then select My Account and Membership. The cancellation flow provides a return shipping label or QR code. Whoop may also charge return shipping costs. The common mistake here is canceling but never actually mailing the hardware back, then getting hit with the restocking fee weeks later.
The 30-Day Window for New Paying Members
Separate from trial returns, Whoop offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee for new paying members. Within 30 days of receiving your hardware, you can return the device for a full refund of your initial membership fee minus return shipping costs. You’ll need to contact Membership Services at support.whoop.com to start the process, and the device has to arrive back at Whoop within 30 days of your return request.2WHOOP. WHOOP Terms of Use
Once that window closes, you can still cancel, but there’s no refund for the current term. You’ll use the service until your paid period ends.
Pause Instead of Cancel
If you might come back — recovering from an injury, traveling without the strap — pausing may fit better than a full cancellation. Whoop lets you pause for up to three months. Billing stops and data uploads are suspended during the pause, but your existing data is preserved.
To pause, open the Membership section of the web app, select Pause Membership, choose your duration, and confirm. Three eligibility rules apply: you need an active membership, you can’t be inside a commitment period, and you can’t have paused in the last 12 months. Resume within 90 days and your biometric baselines stay intact. After 90 days, the device needs to recalibrate.
One quirk: if your membership is currently paused and you decide to cancel for good, you’ll need to resume it first before the cancellation option appears.
What Happens to the Strap and Your Data
Once your membership expires, the Whoop strap stays with you. Members who completed the initial commitment own the hardware outright and don’t need to return anything. Without an active subscription, though, the device stops collecting biometric data.
Your historical health data remains accessible in read-only mode through the mobile app. Past recovery scores, sleep trends, and strain data are still viewable, but nothing new is recorded. Real-time analytics, coaching features, and health monitoring tools all require a paid membership.1WHOOP. When to Call Support
If the cancel button isn’t appearing, your account is in an unusual state, or you have a billing question, Whoop support can handle it by phone at +1 (844) 649-4667, Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST. WHOOP Life members have a priority line at +1 (844) 712-5433. Email and in-app chat are also available through support.whoop.com.3WHOOP.
