How to Cancel Yahoo Finance Premium and Request a Refund

To cancel a Yahoo Finance subscription, go to whichever platform originally charged you: Yahoo’s account settings if you signed up on the web, the App Store if you signed up on an iPhone or iPad, or Google Play if you signed up on Android. Yahoo can’t cancel a subscription that Apple or Google is billing, and canceling in the wrong place leaves the charges running.

Check Who’s Billing You First

Pull up a recent card or bank statement and look at the merchant name on the charge. If it says Yahoo or a Yahoo-affiliated name, you subscribed directly and will cancel through Yahoo. If it says Apple or Google, that platform controls the recurring billing and Yahoo’s own cancellation page won’t even show the subscription.

A quick cross-check: Yahoo’s direct prices are $5.55 per month for Bronze, $19.95 for Silver, and $39.95 for Gold, with annual rates of $66.60, $239.40, and $479.40 respectively.1Yahoo Finance. Upgrade to Yahoo Finance Premium News, Data, and Tools If the amount on your statement doesn’t match any of those, you likely signed up through an app store.

Cancel Through Yahoo’s Website

If Yahoo is billing you directly:

  • Sign in to your Yahoo account and open the Subscriptions page.
  • Select Yahoo Finance from your active subscriptions.
  • Click Cancel next to “Subscribed since.”
  • Pick a cancellation reason and click Cancel subscription.

Yahoo shows a confirmation message when the cancellation processes. Screenshot it. Your access runs through the end of the billing period you already paid for, so you won’t lose the service the instant you cancel.2Yahoo Help. Manage Your Subscriptions and Payment Methods

Expect a retention screen or two listing features you’ll lose. Click through them to the final confirmation. If you stop partway, the subscription stays active.

Cancel Through Apple

On an iPhone or iPad:

  • Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Tap the Yahoo Finance subscription.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription.

On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, go to Account Settings, scroll to Subscriptions, click Manage, then cancel Yahoo Finance.3Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription from Apple

Apple sends a confirmation email once the cancellation goes through. Access continues to the end of the paid period, and Apple does not prorate refunds for the unused portion.

Cancel Through Google Play

On Android:

  • Open the Google Play Store app.
  • Tap your profile icon in the top right.
  • Tap Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Select Yahoo Finance.
  • Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

Cancel before the next renewal date to avoid another charge. Google emails a confirmation, and your access runs through the current billing period.

Getting a Refund

Refund rules depend on who billed you.

If Yahoo billed you directly, you have a 14-day window after the initial purchase or an annual renewal to request a refund, and Yahoo limits this to one refund per customer.4Yahoo Help. Manage Your Subscription Contact Yahoo support inside that window. Past 14 days, a refund is unlikely.

If Apple billed you, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, and select the Yahoo Finance charge. Apple generally responds within 48 hours.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought from Apple Approval isn’t guaranteed, though accidental renewals and charges that posted after a cancellation attempt are common grounds.

If Google billed you, open your Google Play order history, find the Yahoo Finance charge, and select “Report a problem.” Google’s review typically takes about 48 hours, with credit back to your card running another three to five business days.

If Charges Keep Coming After You Cancel

First, confirm the cancellation actually processed. Open the same subscriptions page you used to cancel and check the status. If you clicked through the retention screens but never reached the final confirmation, the subscription is still active.

If you did confirm the cancellation and a charge still posts, dispute it with your card issuer. Federal law gives you 60 days from the date the statement containing the erroneous charge was sent to file a written billing error notice with your card company.6Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors While the dispute is under investigation, the card issuer cannot report the amount as delinquent or send it to collections.7Federal Trade Commission. Fair Credit Billing Act

The 60-day clock starts when the statement is sent, not when you notice the charge, so move quickly. Most card companies accept disputes online or by phone, but following up in writing inside the 60 days is what preserves your rights under the statute. Keep your cancellation confirmation screenshot — that’s your evidence.
