To cancel Yahoo Plus, use the same platform that signed you up: Yahoo’s subscriptions page if you subscribed on yahoo.com, or Apple, Google Play, or Amazon if you subscribed through one of them. This is where most people go wrong. Cancelling on Yahoo’s site when Apple is billing you does nothing to stop the charges, and the reverse is also true. Check a recent charge on your statement or the receipt email to confirm who’s collecting your money before you start.
Cancel on the Yahoo Website
If you signed up directly through Yahoo, the cancellation lives in your account settings.
- Sign in to your Yahoo account and open the My Subscriptions page. You can also get there through your profile icon.
- Select the subscription you want to end.
- Click Cancel next to the “Subscribed since” line, then Manage and Cancel if you’re prompted for a second step.

Cancel Through Apple
Subscribed on an iPhone or iPad? Apple is billing you, and Yahoo can’t stop the charge for you.
- Open Settings on your device.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find Yahoo Mail Plus in the list, tap it, and select Cancel Subscription.

Cancel Through Google Play
Android subscriptions run through your Google account, not through Yahoo and not through the Play Store app.
- Open Settings on your Android device.
- Tap Google, then your name, then Manage your Google Account.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Manage subscriptions.

Older instructions send you into the Play Store app itself. That path no longer works reliably; the Settings route is the current one.
Cancel Through Amazon
If Amazon is the biller, cancel from Amazon’s subscription manager on the website or app.
- Open Your Memberships and Subscriptions.
- Find the Yahoo subscription and select Manage Subscription.

The cancel button sits under “Advanced Controls,” which is easy to scroll past.
What Happens After You Cancel
You keep your premium features until the end of the billing period you already paid for. For Yahoo Mail Plus, that means ad-free mail and the 200 GB of storage stay in place until the cycle ends.6Yahoo. If you’re above the free limit when the subscription lapses, Yahoo won’t delete your old messages, but you won’t be able to send or receive new ones until you clear space or resubscribe. If you’re anywhere close to 20 GB, download or archive anything important before your paid access ends.
Watch for a confirmation email from whoever processed the cancellation. Save it for at least six months. If a charge shows up later, that email is your fastest evidence in a dispute.
Refunds
Yahoo offers a limited refund on subscriptions bought directly through mail.yahoo.com: within 14 days of your first purchase or an annual renewal, you can request your money back for any reason. It’s a one-time courtesy, one per customer.1Yahoo Help. Manage Your Yahoo Mail Plus Subscription The policy doesn’t cover subscriptions bought through Apple, Google, or Amazon.
For an Apple purchase, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, select the Yahoo charge, and submit. Apple typically responds in 24 to 48 hours.8Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
For Google Play, open play.google.com, click your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history. Find the Yahoo charge, click “Report a problem,” and fill out the refund form. Decisions usually come back within one to four days. Charges You Don’t Recognize
If a Yahoo charge appears that you can’t place, check your own account first. Sign in to the subscriptions page, select the subscription, and click View next to “Billing history.” Also consider whether someone else in your household signed up on a separate Yahoo account using the same card — this is the most common explanation.10Yahoo Help. If you’ve had multiple Yahoo accounts over the years, use Yahoo’s Sign-in Helper to find them and check each one’s billing history. Old secondary accounts are a frequent source of surprise charges.
If the charge really isn’t yours, treat the account as potentially compromised: change your password, delete any unrecognized app passwords, update your recovery phone and email, and turn on two-step verification.
