To cancel an ABCmouse subscription through Amazon, open Your Subscriptions in your Amazon account and turn off auto-renewal on the ABCmouse entry, or do the same from the Appstore menu on your Fire tablet. The charge stops, but your child keeps access through the end of the current billing period. The ABCmouse app itself can’t cancel the subscription because Amazon is the one billing you.
First, Confirm Amazon Is Billing You
Canceling through Amazon only works if you originally subscribed through the Amazon Appstore or a Fire tablet. If you signed up on the ABCmouse website, through Apple’s App Store, or through Google Play, Amazon has nothing to cancel.
Check the purchase confirmation email. If it came from Amazon, you’re in the right place. You can also look at your card or bank statement: Amazon-managed subscriptions typically show “Amazon” or “AMZN” in the merchant line.
One more thing to rule out. ABCmouse content is also bundled inside Amazon Kids+ (formerly FreeTime Unlimited). If your child reaches ABCmouse through a Kids+ profile rather than a standalone app, there is no separate ABCmouse subscription on your account. You’d cancel Kids+ instead, which is a different process.
Cancel on the Amazon Website
This method works from any browser and is the most reliable.
- Sign in to your Amazon account and go to Your Account.
- Under “Digital content and devices,” select Your Apps.
- Under the Manage heading, select Your Subscriptions.
- Find ABCmouse in the list and turn off auto-renewal or select cancel.
- Follow the confirmation prompts.

Cancel From a Fire Tablet
If the tablet is handier than a computer, you can do it from there.
- Tap Apps on the Fire tablet home screen.
- Tap Store.
- Open the menu, then tap Manage Subscriptions.
- Find ABCmouse and update or cancel the subscription.

If Access Is Through Amazon Kids+
Amazon Kids+ bundles apps, books, and videos, including ABCmouse content, into one subscription. There’s no separate ABCmouse line item to cancel. Canceling Kids+ removes access to the whole bundle, not only ABCmouse.
- Open the Amazon Parent Dashboard in a web browser.
- Select More.
- Select Amazon Kids+ Subscription.
- Select Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.

Free Trials, Refunds, and Timing
If you’re still inside a free trial, canceling before it ends avoids the charge entirely, and your child keeps access for the rest of the trial window.1Amazon. Manage Your Appstore Subscriptions from the Website There’s no minimum commitment and no penalty for canceling early. Amazon doesn’t publish how far in advance it warns you before a trial converts to paid, so cancel as soon as you’ve decided.
Once you’re past the trial and into a paid period, Amazon generally does not offer prorated refunds for unused time when you cancel mid-cycle.4Amazon. Cancel Your Paid Software Subscription Some publishers offer a grace period for a full refund, with the length listed on the product detail page at signup. Otherwise, you simply use the remaining time.
Worth checking before you cancel: your renewal price. ABCmouse lists $14.99 per month and $45 per year on its own site, but subscriptions bought through app stores, including Amazon’s, may renew at $59.99 per year after the first year.5ABCmouse. What Happens to Your Child’s Progress

Artwork is the exception. Anything saved in the “My Work” area is kept for only six months after cancellation, then permanently deleted if you haven’t reactivated.6ABCmouse. Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
Amazon sends a confirmation email once the cancellation is processed. Keep it as proof in case a charge appears later.
