To cancel an Adobe subscription, sign in at account.adobe.com, open Manage Plan next to the subscription you want to end, and work through the cancellation screens until you reach Confirm Cancellation. That is the full process if you bought directly from Adobe. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, Adobe cannot cancel it for you, and you have to use those platforms instead.1Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription Cost depends on your plan: annual plans billed monthly carry a 50% early termination fee after the first 14 days, monthly plans have no fee, and annual prepaid plans give no refund after 14 days.
Check your original confirmation email if you’re not sure where you bought the subscription. That determines which of the routes below applies to you.
Cancel Through Your Adobe Account
You need the email address and password you used when you first signed up. If the password is lost, use the reset link on the sign-in page.
- Sign in at account.adobe.com.
- Select Manage Plan next to the subscription you want to cancel.
- Select Cancel Your Plan.
- Review the plan details, then select Continue to Cancel.
- Pick a reason from the dropdown and select Continue.
- Review the cancellation summary, including any fee, and select Confirm Cancellation.
Only that final Confirm Cancellation click ends the subscription. Stop earlier and nothing changes; your next bill will arrive on schedule. Adobe sends an email receipt once the cancellation goes through.1Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
You cannot cancel while a payment is processing or while there is a payment problem on the account. If the option is not available, wait 24 hours and try again. If the cancel button never appears, contact Adobe support through the contact page (Account Issues, then Cancel My Membership), or call 800-915-9428. If you land in automated chat, typing AGENT connects you to a person.
Adobe often presents a discounted offer during the cancellation flow. Click past it if you actually want to cancel, since accepting restarts your commitment.
Cancel an Apple or Google Play Subscription
Adobe cannot process cancellations for subscriptions billed through Apple or Google.1Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
On Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, select Subscriptions, choose the Adobe plan, and tap Cancel Subscription. The web equivalent is apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
On Google Play, open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & Subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose the Adobe plan, and tap Cancel Subscription. The web version lives at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Adobe’s early termination fee does not apply to subscriptions billed through Apple or Google. Refunds go through those platforms under their own policies. Apple takes requests at reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play handles them through its own support page.
What Cancellation Will Cost You
The bill depends on your plan and how long you have had it.
The First 14 Days
Cancel within 14 days of your initial order and you get a full refund.2Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription Refunds typically post to the original payment method in 10 to 15 business days. There is no partial credit on day 15, so if you have decided against the software, cancel before the window closes.
Annual Plan Billed Monthly
After the 14-day window, Adobe charges a lump sum equal to 50% of what remains on the contract.3Adobe. Adobe Subscription and Cancellation Terms Six months left at $55 a month means 50% of $330, or $165. Access continues through the end of the current billing period, then ends. The cancellation summary shows the exact fee before you confirm.
Monthly Plan With No Annual Commitment
No early termination fee. After the 14-day window, the current month’s payment is non-refundable, service runs to the end of that billing period, and nothing charges after that.2Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
Annual Plan Paid Upfront
No refund after the 14-day window. Access runs to the end of the paid year regardless, so there is little reason to cancel before the renewal date rather than simply letting it lapse.2Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
What Happens to Your Account, Files, and Software
Canceling does not delete your Adobe ID. The account converts to a free Creative Cloud membership, so you can sign in and resubscribe later without starting over.2Adobe. Cancel Your Adobe Trial or Subscription
Cloud storage drops to 2 GB. If your stored files are over that limit, you have 30 days to download or delete them before access to files on Adobe’s servers may be lost.4Adobe. Account Access After Plan Cancellation Files kept locally on your computer are unaffected.
Premium apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro stop working when the paid subscription ends. The Creative Cloud desktop app stays available for managing local files, and starter versions of some apps still run on the free tier.
Fonts activated through Adobe Fonts deactivate at cancellation. Fonts already embedded in image files or flattened documents stay in those files, but you cannot use them in new projects. Flatten or export anything font-dependent before you cancel.
Adobe Portfolio sites stay online for roughly two weeks after cancellation, then go offline. You can still retrieve your content through the Portfolio editor after that, but visitors to the URL will find nothing. Move a client-facing portfolio somewhere else before canceling.
When to Cancel
On an annual plan billed monthly, the 50% fee shrinks as you get closer to the renewal date because fewer months remain. Waiting keeps the fee smaller. On an annual prepaid plan, timing does not change the outcome; there is no refund either way, so use the software through the end of the term. On a true monthly plan, cancel whenever you like and ride out the current billing period. And if you are inside the first 14 days and sure of the decision, cancel now for the full refund.2Adobe.
