How to Cancel Your Amazon Grocery Subscription

To cancel your Amazon grocery subscription, go to Your Memberships and Subscriptions, select Cancel Grocery Subscription, and confirm.1Amazon. Cancel Your Grocery Subscription That’s the full process for the $9.99-per-month delivery membership and for the free trial. Before you click, though, figure out which subscription you actually have. Amazon runs two different grocery-related subscriptions, and they cancel through separate menus.

Which Grocery Subscription Do You Have?

The grocery delivery subscription is a membership. It gives Prime members unlimited free delivery on grocery orders over $35 from Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and other retailers on the platform. It costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year, with a $4.99 monthly rate for customers using EBT or enrolled in Prime Access through qualifying government assistance programs.2Amazon. Subscribe and Save is a different thing entirely. It’s not a membership. You pick individual products — coffee, dish soap, canned goods — choose a delivery frequency, and Amazon ships them on a recurring schedule at a discount of up to 15% when five or more products arrive in the same auto-delivery.4Amazon. Subscribe and Save Each product is its own subscription.

Canceling the delivery membership stops the monthly fee and the free-delivery benefit. Canceling Subscribe and Save stops specific products from arriving. Some people need to do both. One quick boundary worth noting: the grocery delivery subscription is an add-on to Prime, not Prime itself, so canceling it has no effect on your Prime membership or its other benefits.

Canceling the Grocery Delivery Membership

These steps apply to the $9.99 monthly plan, the $99.99 annual plan, the $4.99 EBT rate, and the free trial. The path is the same on desktop and in the Amazon app:1Amazon. Cancel Your Grocery Subscription

  • Go to Your Memberships and Subscriptions. On desktop it’s under Account and Lists; in the app, open Your Account.
  • Under the grocery subscription settings, select Cancel Grocery Subscription.
  • Select Cancel Subscription to confirm.

Your free-delivery benefit stays active until the current billing period ends. After that date you won’t be charged again, and the delivery fee savings stop.1Amazon. Cancel Your Grocery Subscription If you’re on the free trial, cancel before it ends to avoid auto-conversion into a paid subscription.

Canceling Subscribe and Save Items

Individual product subscriptions live in a different part of your account:5Amazon. Cancel Your Subscribe and Save Subscription

  • Go to Your Subscribe and Save Items.
  • Select the Subscriptions tab.
  • Select the product image, or select Edit to open the subscription details.
  • Select Cancel Subscription.
  • Pick a cancellation reason if you want. You can skip this.
  • Select Cancel My Subscription to confirm.

There’s no bulk cancel button. Each item has to be canceled on its own. If a delivery is already being processed, your cancellation may not stop that shipment, so check your upcoming delivery dates before assuming nothing more is coming.

Skip Instead of Cancel When You Just Need a Break

If you have too much of something but want to keep the subscription active, skip the delivery instead. Skipping doesn’t affect your subscription status or your discount tier:6Amazon. Skip Your Next Subscribe and Save Delivery

  • To skip one item, go to Your Subscribe and Save Items, hover over the subscription, select Skip, and confirm.
  • To skip the whole delivery, go to Manage Your Deliveries, select Skip All, and confirm which items to skip.

Watch the Five-Item Discount

Subscribe and Save discounts are tiered. The rate jumps to as much as 15% when five or more products arrive in the same auto-delivery.7Amazon. Subscribe and Save – How Does It Work Canceling a few items can drop you below five and knock every remaining item in that delivery down to the lower rate. Before you cancel, count how many active subscriptions share the same delivery date.

If you cancel an item and later re-subscribe, the discount may not be what it was. Amazon can change discount amounts at any time, and reactivated subscriptions get whatever rate is current when you rejoin.8Amazon. Subscribe and Save Terms and Conditions

Getting a Refund

If you paid for the grocery delivery subscription and haven’t used any of the benefits during the current billing period, you’re eligible for a full refund. Amazon typically processes refunds within three to five business days.9Amazon. Cancel Your Amazon Prime Membership If you’ve already placed delivery orders this cycle, don’t expect money back for the current period.

Subscribe and Save works differently because you’re charged per shipment, not for a membership. Canceling only stops future orders. If an item has already shipped, you’d return it through Amazon’s standard return process.

Confirm the Cancellation Stuck

Go back to Your Memberships and Subscriptions and check that the grocery delivery subscription shows as canceled or ending on a specific date. For Subscribe and Save, revisit Your Subscribe and Save Items and make sure nothing you meant to cancel is still active. Amazon sends an email confirmation for the delivery subscription cancellation, and Subscribe and Save changes show up in your order history.

Keep an eye on your card statement through the next billing cycle. If a charge appears that shouldn’t, contact Amazon customer service through the Help section; they can refund erroneous charges directly.

If Amazon Makes It Hard to Cancel

Federal law requires a simple exit from internet-based recurring subscriptions. The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act makes it illegal to charge consumers through a negative option feature unless the seller clearly discloses all material terms before collecting billing information, gets express informed consent, and provides a simple mechanism to stop future recurring charges.10Congress.gov. Public Law 111-345 – Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act Violations carry civil penalties and consumer refunds enforced by the FTC. If a retailer buries the cancellation option or adds unnecessary hurdles, you can file a complaint with the FTC.
