To cancel your Artlist subscription, log in, open Plan & Billings, click the three-dot icon next to your payment information, choose Subscription info, and select Cancel renewal. That turns off auto-renewal. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, so time the cancellation before your next renewal date to avoid another charge. A few things are worth sorting out before you click, especially around your Clearlist and any projects still in progress.
The Cancellation Steps
The option isn’t especially prominent, but the path is short:
- Log in and open Plan & Billings in your account settings.
- Next to your payment information, click the three-dot icon and select Subscription info (or Subscription details).
- Click Cancel renewal.
- Share your feedback and confirm. Artlist will show retention offers and alternative plans along the way.
- Wait for the on-screen confirmation that the cancellation went through.
Screenshot that final confirmation. Artlist’s help documentation doesn’t mention an automated confirmation email, so the on-screen message may be your only proof that auto-renewal was turned off.1Artlist. How Do I Cancel the Renewal in My Account?
Your subscription remains active through the end of the current billing period after you cancel. You can keep downloading and using assets until that date passes.2Artlist. Managing Artlist’s Payments: Billing Cycles, Payment Methods and Subscription Changes
When You Can Get a Refund
Artlist’s refund policy has two hard requirements: payment must have been made within the last 14 days, and you must not have downloaded, generated, or used any assets since that payment. Both have to be true. A single downloaded track or footage clip disqualifies you, no matter how recently you paid. This applies to new subscriptions and renewals alike.3Artlist. If you qualify, contact Artlist support with your account name, the email on the account, the last four digits and expiration date of your payment card (or your PayPal email), and a copy of your invoice. Support reviews the request and responds by email. There’s no instant automated refund.3Artlist. Managing Artlist’s Refund Policy: Refunds and Cancellations
What Stays Licensed After You Cancel
The rule is straightforward: any project you completed and published while your subscription was active stays covered after cancellation. A YouTube video you uploaded last month with an Artlist track is fine forever. You don’t need to pull it down or stop monetizing it.4Artlist. Understanding Artlist’s License – Section: Music, SFX, Footage, and Templates
What you cannot do is use downloaded assets in new projects after your subscription expires. A track sitting on your hard drive that you’ve been meaning to use in next month’s video becomes unlicensed the moment you add it to a new project after your plan lapses. It doesn’t matter that you downloaded it while paying. The license covers published projects, not stockpiled files.4Artlist. If you have projects in progress, finish and publish them before your subscription ends. If you can’t, either extend your plan or resubscribe before using those assets.
Register Your Clearlist Before Your Plan Expires
Artlist’s Clearlist whitelists your YouTube channels and individual videos so they don’t get hit with Content ID claims. Channels and videos you register during an active subscription remain cleared permanently, even after you cancel. You cannot add new channels or videos to the Clearlist once your plan expires.5Artlist. Understanding Artlist’s Clearlist
Before you cancel, go through your Clearlist and confirm that every channel and every video using Artlist assets is registered. If you published something with an Artlist track and never added it, do it now. Once your subscription lapses, the video becomes vulnerable to claims and you can’t fix it from the Clearlist side.
If a Copyright Claim Comes Up Later
If you get a YouTube claim on a video published during your active subscription, how you handle it depends on who filed:
- Claim by Artlist Ltd: this almost always means the channel or video wasn’t added to your Clearlist. If your subscription is still active, add it and the claim should resolve. If your subscription has expired, contact Artlist support.
- Claim by Artlist Ltd (Music Publishing): dispute directly through YouTube’s dispute process.
- Claim by a third party: contact Artlist support with a link to the track on Artlist’s site, a viewable (non-private) URL to your video, and a screenshot of the claim details page showing who filed it and the timestamp.6Artlist. Understanding Copyright and Content ID Claims
For platforms other than YouTube, Meta, or TikTok, you may need to prove coverage manually with a copy of your asset license and invoice for each track. Download those documents from your account while you still have access.6Artlist. Understanding Copyright and Content ID Claims
Canceling Is Not the Same as Deleting
Canceling auto-renewal leaves your account intact. Your download history, saved projects, Clearlist registrations, and license records all stay in place. You just stop being charged. Deleting the account permanently removes access to all of that and cannot be reversed, and you can’t delete an account that still has an active subscription anyway. For most people, canceling is the right move. Keep the account alive so you can pull license records and invoices if a claim surfaces later.3Artlist.
