To cancel a BitePal subscription, use the same platform you signed up on: BitePal’s website (canceled from inside the app itself), Apple’s App Store, or Google Play. Uninstalling the app does not stop the charges, and each billing cycle renews automatically until you cancel through the right channel.
If You Subscribed on BitePal’s Website
Web subscribers cancel from inside the app, not through a separate account page. Open BitePal, go to Settings, tap Manage Subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription. No survey, no phone call.
If the option isn’t working or you can’t get into your account, email hi@bitepal.app with a copy of your invoice and BitePal’s support team can handle it on their end.
If You Subscribed on iPhone or iPad
App Store subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you cancel through Apple:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find BitePal and tap it.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If BitePal doesn’t appear, check that you’re signed in with the Apple ID you used to subscribe. If you originally signed up on the website or on Android, it won’t show up in Apple’s list at all.
If You Subscribed on Android
Android billing runs through Google Play:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Tap Payments & Subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Find BitePal and tap it.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
Deleting the App Does Not Cancel It
Removing BitePal from your phone does nothing to the subscription. The billing record lives with Apple, Google, or BitePal’s own system, not with the installed app, so you can uninstall and keep getting charged every cycle. If you’ve already deleted the app and aren’t sure whether you’re still being billed, check your App Store or Google Play subscriptions, or sign in on BitePal’s website to see your account status.
Refunds
Canceling stops future charges. It does not automatically refund a payment that already went through. The window depends on where you paid:
- Web purchases: refund requests within 30 days of the charge, provided there hasn’t been significant usage after the payment.
- App Store: refund requests go through Apple’s refund page within 48 hours of the charge.
- Google Play: refund requests go through Google’s refund page within 48 hours of the charge.
- Automatic renewals: 48 hours after the renewal charge, and only if you haven’t used the app since it renewed.
The 48-hour windows are tight. If you’re thinking about canceling, do it before the next billing date rather than trying to claw the money back after. For borderline cases, BitePal says you can send your invoice to hi@bitepal.app and they’ll review it individually.
Timing and Access After You Cancel
BitePal charges at the start of each billing cycle, so when you cancel you’ve already paid through the end of the current period. BitePal’s help pages don’t spell out exactly when premium access ends after cancellation, so check your account status inside the app to see when it changes. There’s no grace period that automatically reverses a charge that just posted. If you know you want out, cancel a few days ahead of the renewal date to leave room for timing issues.
Deleting Your Account and Data
Canceling leaves your account and data in place. If you want the account itself removed, use the “Remove my data” button in the app or email hi@bitepal.app to request full deletion. If you’d been syncing through Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect, revoke the permission in your device settings to stop new data from being collected; previously synced health data can be deleted through the app or by emailing support.
Getting Help
For anything the self-service steps don’t resolve, email hi@bitepal.app. Describe the problem briefly and attach screenshots of the charges or error messages you’re seeing; BitePal’s own documentation asks for screenshots to speed things up. There’s no published phone number, so email is the channel.
