To cancel your Cowboy Channel subscription, you have to cancel it wherever you signed up. Cowboy+ (the streaming service formerly branded Cowboy Channel Plus) is sold directly on its own website and also through Apple, Google Play, Roku, and Amazon, and each of those platforms handles its own billing. The Cowboy+ website cannot stop an Apple or Roku charge, and Apple cannot stop a charge coming from Roku. Identifying who bills you is the one step you cannot skip.
Find Out Who Is Charging You
Pull up your bank or credit card statement and look for the recurring charge. Cowboy+ costs $9.99 per month or $119.99 per year, so search for one of those amounts.1Cowboy+. Cowboy+ The descriptor next to the charge tells you where to cancel:
- “Apple.com/bill” means you subscribed through the App Store.
- “Google*Cowboy” or a similar Google Play tag means Google bills you.
- “Roku” or “Roku for ___” points to Roku.2Roku. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku
- A charge naming Cowboy Channel Plus, Cowboy+, or Teton Ridge usually means you signed up on the Cowboy+ website.
You’ll also need the login you used when you subscribed. For app-store subscriptions that’s your Apple ID or Google account. For a direct subscription, use your Cowboy+ credentials, or reset the password. Cowboy+ support is reachable at help@tetonridge.com.3Cowboy+. Customer Support
Cancel on the Cowboy+ Website
If you signed up at cowboychannelplus.com, log in and open your account or subscription settings. The dashboard shows your current plan, renewal date, and a cancel option. Select cancel, confirm when prompted, and watch for the confirmation email. Save it. That email is your proof if charges keep coming.
Cancel Through Apple
If you subscribed through the App Store on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, Apple controls the billing and Cowboy+ cannot stop it. On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Cowboy+, and choose Cancel Subscription. The path on Apple TV runs through the Settings menu and works the same way.4Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription from Apple
If Cowboy+ doesn’t appear in your list, either you signed up through a different platform or you’re logged in with a different Apple ID. Apple won’t show subscriptions billed by Roku, Amazon, Google, or the Cowboy+ website.
Cancel Through Google Play
Android users who subscribed through the Play Store need to cancel there. Open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions, and select Subscriptions. Find Cowboy+, tap it, and select Cancel subscription, then confirm.5Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Cancel Through Roku
If you added Cowboy+ through the Roku Channel Store, Roku handles your billing.6Cowboy+. How to Watch Confirm this by visiting my.roku.com/subscriptions in a browser; if Cowboy+ shows up under Active subscriptions, you cancel through Roku.
On the web, select the Cowboy+ subscription, choose Manage subscription, and select Turn off auto-renew. On the device itself, highlight the Cowboy+ tile on the home screen, press the Star button on your remote, choose Manage subscription, and select Turn off auto-renew.2Roku. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku Roku doesn’t offer partial-term refunds, but access continues to the end of your current billing cycle.
Cancel Through Amazon
If you subscribed through a Fire TV device or the Amazon Appstore, go to amazon.com/mc, sign in, find Cowboy+, select Manage Subscription, and follow the prompts to cancel.7Amazon. Manage Your Amazon Subscriptions You can reach the same screen through Your Account, then Your Apps under Digital content and devices, then Your Subscriptions. Toggle off auto-renewal. Access runs until the current subscription period expires.8Amazon Customer Service. Manage Your Appstore Subscriptions from the Website
If You Get The Cowboy Channel Through Cable or Satellite
If The Cowboy Channel is part of a cable or satellite TV package, you’re not canceling a streaming subscription; you’re removing a channel from your TV plan. Log into your provider’s account portal and look for a section like Manage My Programming.9DISH. Manage Your Programming If the option isn’t there, call customer service or use the provider’s live chat. Removing a single channel may not lower your bill if the channel is bundled into a package tier, in which case you’d have to downgrade the whole package.
After You Cancel
The pattern is the same across every platform: you keep access until the end of the billing period you already paid for, and then it stops. None of these platforms offer prorated refunds for partial months or years. Your next statement should show no further charges.
Watch for a confirmation email within a few minutes. If it doesn’t arrive, log back in and check that your subscription shows as canceled or set to expire. Screenshot that screen. Most cancellation failures come from people who backed out of the final confirmation step without realizing it, or canceled the wrong service on an account with several active subscriptions.
If Charges Keep Coming
If you see another charge after a confirmed cancellation, contact the billing platform first. Apple, Google, Roku, and Amazon all have dispute processes for erroneous subscription charges and can usually reverse a billing error quickly.
If the platform won’t help, federal law gives you another route. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you can dispute the charge with your credit card company by sending written notice within 60 days of the statement date showing the disputed charge. Your notice needs your name, account number, the amount in dispute, and why you believe it’s an error.10Office of the Law Revision Counsel. United States Code Title 15 – 1666 Correction of Billing Errors The card issuer must acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles. While the investigation is open, the issuer cannot report the disputed amount as delinquent or send it to collections.
Your Right to a Simple Cancellation
The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act requires any company using automatic-renewal billing to give consumers a simple way to stop future charges.11Office of the Law Revision Counsel. United States Code Title 15 – 8403 The FTC reads this to mean canceling must be at least as easy as signing up. A service that lets you subscribe with two clicks but requires a phone call to cancel is exactly the practice the law targets.
If a company makes cancellation unreasonably difficult, you can file a complaint with the FTC at ftc.gov/complaint. The FTC has pursued enforcement actions against companies with burdensome cancellation processes, and violations can carry civil penalties and consumer refunds.
