How to Cancel Your DocuSign Subscription and Get a Refund

To cancel a DocuSign subscription, sign in as the account administrator and cancel from the admin dashboard if you subscribed on the DocuSign website, or open your phone’s subscription settings if you subscribed through the iOS or Android app. Before you click anything, decide whether you want to downgrade to a free account or close the account entirely. Only one of those keeps your documents.

Downgrade or Close: Decide This First

Downgrading ends your paid plan at the close of your current billing period and converts the account to a free version. You keep access to your completed documents and your stored signature, but you lose the ability to send envelopes for others to sign.1DocuSign. Downgrade or Close Your Docusign Account

Closing shuts the account down permanently. Your documents become inaccessible, and DocuSign warns you to download everything first because nothing is retrievable afterward.2DocuSign. For most people, downgrading is the safer choice. The charges stop and you keep a permanent archive of your signed agreements.

Check Admin Access and Where You Bought the Plan

Only an account administrator can cancel or downgrade a DocuSign subscription. Standard users won’t see the billing options.2DocuSign. Then confirm where the subscription was purchased. Website signups cancel on the website. Mobile app signups cancel through the device’s app store. Plans sold by DocuSign’s sales team won’t offer a self-service cancel button at all.

Cancel a Web Subscription

Sign in as an administrator. Click “Admin” in the top navigation, then “Plan and Billing” under the Account section. Choose “Manage Subscription,” then “Cancel Subscription.”2DocuSign. Cancel Your Subscription or Close Your Docusign Account

A short exit survey appears, followed by a confirmation screen summarizing what changes. Select “Confirm Cancellation.” Your account will downgrade to a free version at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full paid access until then.2DocuSign. To close the account entirely instead, go to “Manage Subscription,” then “Switch Plan,” and look for “Close Account” at the bottom of the page. Download every document you want to keep before you confirm.2DocuSign. Cancel Your Subscription or Close Your Docusign Account

Cancel an iPhone or iPad Subscription

If you subscribed inside the DocuSign iOS app, the billing relationship is with Apple, not DocuSign. Open the Settings app on your device, tap “Subscriptions,” find DocuSign, and cancel or change the plan from there.4DocuSign. Manage or Cancel Your Docusign Plan (iPad, iPhone) The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, so access does not disappear right away.

Cancel an Android Subscription

Open the Google Play app, tap your account icon, then go to “Payments and subscriptions,” then “Subscriptions,” and select DocuSign.5DocuSign. Manage or Cancel Your Docusign Plan (Android) Cancellation again runs through the end of the current cycle.

After canceling on either platform, go back into your subscription list and confirm auto-renewal is actually off. Discovering a stray charge on next month’s statement is a frustrating way to learn the toggle didn’t stick.

Enterprise or Sales-Purchased Plans

If your organization bought DocuSign through a sales representative or an enterprise contract, the self-service steps above won’t apply. These accounts follow the terms of the individual service contract, and DocuSign’s standard refund and cancellation policies don’t govern them.6DocuSign. Will You Get a Refund

Canceling does not trigger a refund on its own. You have to request one, and the window is narrow.

DocuSign does not prorate refunds for unused time. Cancel an annual plan in month four and you keep access through month twelve, but the remaining eight months are not refunded. If you’re past the 30-day window, the practical move is to ride out the term and make sure auto-renewal is off before the next one hits.

What Your Free Account Still Lets You Do

After downgrading, your account becomes a free plan with a single-user limit.1DocuSign.
